This curler can make soft curls and waves that look really nice, but it took me a long time to get the hang of it. The learning curve is steep. I watched the tutorial video more times than I want to admit and eventually managed to get results that were more wavy than curly, which I was fine with. Someone who is already good with styling tools might pick it up quickly, but it definitely was not instinctive for me. There are some things I do like. The temperature control is helpful, especially since I avoid high heat because of thinning hair. The eight second timer is a smart touch since it spins your hair and then releases it, which kept the heat exposure short. The safety shutoff when hair tangles actually works. It saved me a few times in my early attempts and kept me from panicking about damaging my hair. The biggest issue is feeding the hair into the guide in a way that makes it wrap correctly and consistently. I never quite mastered that part. The constant beeping is another drawback. It beeps when it starts and again at the end of the eight seconds and it is louder than it needs to be when the tool is right next to your ear. A quiet mode would make a big difference. The LANDOT automatic rotating curling iron is really nice quality! It feels heavy duty and well made. I love how much time could be saved using this rather than using an iron that I have to roll each section by hand. It is a lot less likely to burn hands with this as well since there is the covering over the hot wand. I definitely need some more practice with it so I can get a better idea of how to create the curls I like. It’s a little more difficult to get the hang of than a regular iron, but I feel like I’ll enjoy it more once I get more comfortable with using it. I was able to het a decent curl in, but like I said, I definitely need to get to know how to use the product more because I tried a few sections and wasn’t able to get that same curl each time.
