This didn't work so well on my shoulder length hair. Since it's one long soft curling rod, it was hard for my hair to reach and twist around the rod. It gave me uneven results. However, I gave it to my SIL to try, and her hair is longer (about half way down her back). She got gorgeous, wavy curls that you'd expet with heatless curling, so it was a total win for her! In all, this is a great set. It comes nicely packaged, and looks pretty, making it very giftable. You can wrap it right out of the shipping box. The curling rod is soft and has some scrunch, so it's easy to sleep on. The bonnet gave the hair extra protection during sleep, and the clip is good for anyone that wants a little extra snug-ness. The clip is pretty flat so you don't even notice it when sleeping. I'm a side sleeper to begin, then I roll on my back, and both positions were comfortable when wearing this. I just wished my hair was a little longer to be able to get in this. (I need those octopus looking ones with multiple arms.) All in all, this is great for longer hair, and is really comfortable! This satin heatless curl set is really nice! The part that you wrap your hair around is a little bigger in diameter and softer than other styles I've used. This made it more comfortable to sleep in and gave me a more loose curl, which I like! The hair clip feels durable (it's one of those claw clips that will break right away), and it's nice that it lays flat against the head. OK so I tried a cheap heatless curler like this a few years back, and it was SO uncomfortable and didn't give me the results I wanted. I love other products from L'ange, so I decided to give it another try. For context, my hair is very long (nearly waist length), mostly straight, and pretty smooth, not a lot of texture. It typically does not hold a curl well. My photo is just the real, raw, first taken out snapshot. No brushing or messing with it...just taken out and shaken out. Bottom line, it DID curl my hair, but there was a little frizzing as well from sleeping on it. I do like the shape and size of the curls for the most part, especially considering this is my first attempt in a few years, and very little experience overall. I think in time I will get much better with technique and learn what products work best with it. Now to share my experience with the method: for the most part, I like this curler better than the one I have used in the past. The foam is very soft and pliable, not stiff like the last one I had. The scrunchies, clip, and bonnet make it a fully functional set, no extra tools needed. But the instructions were VERY lacking. I looked on the package, amazon listing, and even the L'ange website, and didn't find any video tutorials. Which, for something like this, a video tutorial would help a LOT. Written instructions with no photos...not helpful at all. For this reason, I couldn't figure out how to tie the extra ribbon on the end of the rod, and the ribbon made it very difficult to wrap the scrunchy around because it kept getting pulled into the process, and hard to pull out without a 3rd hand. I did look at other tutorials, but a short 1 minute video from L'ange using this exact product would go a long way to make sure people can use it. My other issue is that the bonnet is too tight for my head. It's adjustable which is amazing! Buuut even on the loosest setting, it was very uncomfortably tight. Not only was it slightly painful, but I was going to wake up with a big mark on my forehead. So I slipped it over just part of my head. It may or may not have protected things while I slept, but in the end, I woke up somewhat frizzy, so I'm guessing the bonnet misfit led to that. I did really go into detail about the negatives (lack of tutorial and bonnet size), but I still am very happy with this item compared to the other one I've tried before. I plan to keep using it and getting better and better. It took me maybe 5 minutes to do my hair with it, so it's a huge time saver. My hair did NOT hold the curl, but I did it fresh after a hair wash shower with NO styling products, only conditioning products, so I really knew it wasn't likely to stay, given my hair type. I just wanted to test using it with no product first, but once I put some staying power product, it should hold better. I think that has to do with hair type more than the design of this item. Oh one final note - for my very long hair, the rod really wasn't long enough, so I had to wrap the ends of my hair with less of an angle which changed the shape of the curl. Arrived quickly and with no damages. This is VERY well made. The material is super soft, the sponges in the curlers are so soft and lightweight, it adds zero weight to your head, which means, no head pain for those who have sensitive scalp, or pressure points. The scrunchies are super strong with a flat tight band on the inside, you can easily feel the shape of the band. The bonnet is double layered, and had an adjustable band, similar to a drawstring ponytail or wig. It is large and should give ample room for larger/ bigger/ tall hairstyles. The pink clip is strong, and the points on the clip aren't scratchy at all. Be mindful of the products you use on this item, because it can stain the satin. The packaging it comes in, is gift worthy. This set is a great value for everything you get. The curling rod is soft, high quality, and comfortable to sleep in, and it gives really beautiful curls. My curls held for several days, which honestly surprised me for a heatless option. The satin bonnet is very comfortable and does a great job keeping hair smooth overnight. I noticed far less frizz, and my hair didn’t feel dry or gross in the morning. The satin scrunchies are a nice bonus, and the clip is strong enough to keep the rod securely in place while wrapping hair.
