Even with some negative responses and product failures reported, I still decided to purchase this heater due to its overwhelmingly positive reviews and popularity based on the number of units sold. Now, after using it for over a year without any problems, it has proven its value to me in cost, performance and reliability. This Lasko CD08200 Small Portable Ceramic Space Heater was a replacement for an older heater of a similar type and power rating that had simply lost its heating effectiveness after decades of use. It is always cold in my 6 ft. x 9 ft. basement bathroom, requiring some fortitude when stepping out of the shower. Hence a heater had become a necessary appliance there. Ceramic heaters produce plenty of heat for their size and are a great choice for bathrooms, making this unit appropriate for that purpose. I typically operate the heater for about 30 minutes per day, mainly during the cooler weather months. But even in summer, the heater will eliminate the chill of air conditioning which makes the basement bathroom quite cool then, as well. We absolutely love this heater. I should say that our bathroom is somewhat on the small side, but it's definitely far better than any others we've used. It starts putting out a lot of heat the moment it's turned on. The foot print is small and because it's shaped like a small cube, it can't be knocked over like the standard skinny tall ones. Because of this it doesn't need (or have) an automatic shut off switch on the bottom -- a small short cube can't fall over. I like the simple and very large diameter push switch on the top, no small knobs or switches to fiddle with. Tapping it gives you On, On for an hour and Off. I wish it also had a straight no heat fan option, but it doesn't, however, I'm quite happy with it anyway. There is no handle to pick it up with, but since the front is the only surface that gets hot (and quckly cools off when heater is turned off) it's quite easy to just pick it up by squeezing the two sides between the palms of your hands. This item is super heat for your bathroom. The color blends with my decor and I appreciate the safety plug. It’s easy to turn on for a timed hour or high or low and you can even just tap the large on button with your foot. Great product! Read more

We have two bathrooms in our apartment, one bigger than the other. We are in San Francisco, California, and this is our first winter in this apartment. The bathrooms were so chilly in the morning (it is going down to 6ºC at night) as we just have a wall heater in the living room. I first got a basic heater of 500W that was heating a little bit the small bathroom, but needed more than 10 min to feel it, and was not comfortable, just warming a little bit the room. So I decided to try this one, not only because it was more powerful, but also because my husband forgot a couple of times to turn the other off after a shower, so the timer sounds like a feature we were needing. This heater is working sooooo good and fast warming up both bathrooms, the small and the big one. I love the design, it is very nice and has the perfect size. The big button on top is great. I'm giving 4 stars for the only reason that the timer only works in High mode, and if heats a lot. Having the option to use the timer in Low mode will get my extra star. But it is a great product. I totally recommend it and maybe I'll get another one to replace our 500W. Read more

I've had one of these heaters for five years and it's still going strong--no problems at all. I use it in the bathroom every winter, multiple times a day. It's cute and compact and gives just as much heat (1500 watts) as the more expensive tall ones I've tried. Sometimes I set it on the sink and sometimes on the floor, where I can easily tap the big button on/off with my foot. Just purchased a second one for the kitchen counter. Love this heater! Read more

It's easy to give 5 stars when everything goes smoothly. Much more difficult to give 5 stars when there is an unexpected completion. The first heater I received was defective, however this seller replaced it immediately. 5 stars for quick action to remedy the issue and for the heater itself. This little thing really pumps out some heat. I'm using it in a 20-ft camper. It actually works a little too well. The entire camper is heated and even on the low setting it gets pretty warm pretty fast. It is absolutely worth the price and performs far above expectations. I do wish that it had a thermostat to cut it on and off or even a little remote control. But for the price, and size of it, you really can't ask for a better little heater. Read more

This is a good quality heater, I’m more than happy with the heat it produces. However it’s important to know that it doesn’t have a thermostat. It runs on a short timer, or it runs continuously on either low or high. I use it to take the chill off in the bedroom, it works great on the pre-set timer. You can’t adjust the timer, either.
