My youngest kid asked me if it was a girl’s Iron Man mask. ;-) While it may not make me a part of the Marvel Universe, the *Hime Sama Pro 7 Color LED Light Therapy Mask IS a high tech skincare tool that uses 7 different wavelengths of light to treat various skin concerns. No UV light is used here, so don’t count on this to get a tan or worry about skin damage. Fun fact: LED light therapy was originally developed by NASA 30+ years ago to promote tissue healing & repair in astronauts. Light therapy works by using different colors of the light spectrum that each have their own respective wavelengths. With an increase in wavelength comes an increase in how deep light penetrates the skin, therefore each light wavelength elicits a different response in the skin. Now remember, light therapy is not a one & done type of treatment, even if you have it done within a clinical setting, such as a salon. The results are cumulative, so you will need multiple treatments over a longer period of time to see measurable results. One major benefit for me is that there is no downtime or pain after treatment. After patch testing, I used my mask 3-4 times a week for a month & have noticed a decrease in redness and hyperpigmented areas, a slight improvement in firmness/ elasticity in the jowl area (need more time for better results here), & it also helped on days I was feeling blue. For anyone with Seasonal Affective Disorder this mask is for you! The most comfortable way to use the mask- in my opinion- is to recline on a sofa or bed with my head on a pillow & the included silk eye mask on for eye protection. I flip the adjustable elastic band out of the way & lay the mask on my face (gently- it’s heavy w/ 192 LED’s in it!). Make sure the remote has been adjusted to your preferred color, time, + brightness level & you’re off! Just don’t forget the patch test & *build* your way up to no more than 30 minutes at a time a few days per week. The media could not be loaded. My spa days now come from the comfort of my own home. This is so exciting because this can help with so many skin conditions. You can choose what lights you want to use or you can combine them all into one. The mask is well made 100%!! Its quite heavy that it will leave a denting mark on your face but it's not something that will stay. I suggest not putting the band and just let it lay on your face. i also highly suggest getting laser eye covers, though the eyes are well protected with the eye guard attached, you just can never be too sure esp when there's this amount of light too close to your eyes. I love that it adds a neck piece as well since we often forget to care for that area. I absolutely loved how thick and sturdy it is. The rose gold color is stunning. And don't get me started in the free silk eye mask. The price is high but you certainly see the quality. *Update* The company has emailed me multiple times asking me to remove my review. I will not remove my review; it is an honest report of my experience with the mask. Based on these emails, I would be wary of all the positive reviews. I feel like all these reviews were written based solely on packaging. Having actually tried to use it- multiple times- this thing is Extremely uncomfortable. And there is really no way to make it better. If you're laying down, it presses on the bridge of the nose. If you're sitting up, it slides down and doesn't stay in place. Also there is no way to use the supplied goggles or the mask just lays right on top of the bridge of the goggle and presses them into your eye sockets. I read a ton of reviews and really wanted to love this but nope, I could not make it usable. The longest I was able to tolerate it was 3 minutes. All that being said...it was beautifully packaged. Exterior Amazon box had zero damage but, the product packaging inside was totally crushed. Not sure what happened to quality control and letting it go out like that? However, I removed the mask to see if it worked. Thankfully it appears to be working. It's only the first day but, I will return it immediately if I have any issues. This is my 2nd red light mask and this one is heavier than the previous one I purchased. I do like the neck feature. I'm looking forward to seeing the results. Read more
