These lights are amazing! I don't think I can possibly say enough good things about this set. It's really rare that I test something on Amazon and I'm just left somewhat speechless because everything it promises to do, and everything I thought it should be capable of- it does. I got the 10 pack of the 8 footers! I planned to use these in my basement workshop. These lights are as bright as the face of the sun!. Each actual fixture has two rows of light and there sat at an angle so they shine to the left and right of the light. The diffusers are quite clear and are not the typical white frosted one that you see, so the very strong light easily shines wherever it's aimed. In fact I've actually had problems with it being in my face, even though it's nine foot off the ceiling. The higher up you can mount these, the happier you'll be. These things are crazy bright. These could probably also be used as a high Bay type of fixture. Everything you need to install these and hook them up comes in the box. They send all the cords, the lights, the clips, and plenty of detailed instructions to get them running. There really isn't much you have to do it's pretty plug and play. they function exactly as they should and deliver everything they promise. Currently listed at $180, I didn't even check comparables, because I'm so happy with the quality and the output of these lights- It doesn't even matter to me what other companies are selling them for, these are the right lights to buy! The shop lights are very bright and easy to install. There are two versions, one that is 8 ft and one that is 4 ft. Essentially the 8 ft is just two 4 ft pieces put together with 120 volt wire connecting both sides. You could technically cut the 8 ft ones in half as long as you remove that wire and it wasn't live to short out. This kit comes with all the hardware that you need to mount and screw in and install the lights. Each half or each four foot section has its own AC to DC converter to power the lights. This set is an unbeatable deal for lighting large spaces. If you look at it from a $ per brightness perspective, you're getting a lot for your money here. I would say these are ideal for shops and warehouses. Kudos to whoever wrote the description on this item, it is one of the most complete descriptions I've seen in a while. The kit comes with literally everything you need to install and then some. From mounting brackets to wiring, it's all in there. The fact that it will save you an extra trip to the hardware store makes it an even better value. For the average homeowner garage, these are probably overkill. They are bright and harsh, don't look directly at them. You've been warned. And due to the exceptional 270 degree throw of light, if you can see the fixture with your head level, expect to be blinded. I installed these in a set of standard residential garages with 8.5 foot ceilings and they were too bright. So I flipped them upside down to shoot light at the ceiling and bounce it to the garage area. This made the light perfect without blinding any casual passers by. If you're doing detailing in your garage you may use them as intended but for me indirect light was a much better option. Also it would be great if they were dimmable or had some sort of diffuser over the LEDs, but unfortunately you're staring right into almost a hundred watts of LED here. Installation is dead simple. I opted for the eight-foot version as I am going to hardwire 2 sets in my garage, my attic, and the basement utility room. So, that meant I have a few leftovers for yet undetermined areas. I decided to put one in my office as there are no ceiling fixtures, just a couple of switched outlets for floor lamps that do not cut the mustard, and these super lightweight fixtures are a breeze to install You realize how long and gangly these are to move around inside your house once you experience that activity. My pics show a before and after installation above a window and running an extension cord to an outlet. Unfortunately, the after photo does not reflect the white intensity of the fixture. I am going to have to move this fixture to the ceiling, as the light is too bright to comfortably walk into the room without getting blinded, so they should be placed well above eye level and are intended more for shop, garage, or warehouse use. The clear lens is a bit flimsy, but the overall build quality is solid. There is included all the cables for each fixture as described in the product page. I do wish that there was another option for connecting the cables near the center of the fixture, this would make it easier to direct wire when replacing an existing ceiling fixture. Cost is not prohibitive considering all the hardware and accessories that are included and the options they provide, a better value will be hard to find elsewhere!
