I put eight of these in my 24x32 two bay garage, four per bay. When I first opened the box, I was a little underwhelmed by the lights because they have no cover (the LED strips are inside plastic tubes made to look like fluorescent tubes) and felt thin and kind of flimsy. But I installed the first one and was impressed. They're wonderfully bright. The light weight made them super easy to install. I mounted them using the included hooks and chains with the hooks screwed into the sides of the second story floor joists. This allowed the lights to look flush with the joists without having to carefully measure screw locations on the underside of the joists. In fact, you can't actually flush mount these under my joists that are 16" on center. The mounting holes are too far in to fit between joists. The lights actually brighten the garage during daylight. My photos show on and off at 1pm during the winter. I ran each set of four lights on a single outlet, single 15A circuit. I have had them up for about a week and they turn on in cold temperatures (10 degrees F or so). I'm planning to buy more for the second floor. Read more

I received my order today (one day late due to a delay and mishap with the U.S. Postal Service) and installed 6 of the 10 fixtures so far. PROS: - Fixtures are very light, made of plastic and aluminum and have a very good finish. - Pull chains operate smoothly and quietly. - Output lumens are at least 15% brighter than the equivalent fluorescent fixtures. - Wattage consumed is 50% less than the equivalent fluorescent fixtures. - Hardware provided is adequate for most installations. I appreciated already having the chain, "S" hooks and cable handy without having to run to the hardware store. The screws are a bit thin in diameter, but then again the fixtures don't weigh more than 4 lbs. each, if even that. - Very easy to install for one person with no assistance. - Able to chain or link them together (up to 4) using one outlet receptacle. Remember though, if you unplug one, any that follow in line will receive no power as well. Individual pull chains allow you to control which lights you'd like to power on. Of course, the ideal situation is to plug them in to switched receptacles. CONS: - Shipping container was heavily damaged along with 2 of the 10 light fixture boxes. Luckily, the fixture itself was unharmed. - 4 of the 6 boxes I've opened so far had the hardware scattered about throughout the carton and stuck underneath the LED light tubes. Some cartons were understocked with hardware while others were overstocked. So far, I'm ahead by a couple screws and anchors; no lost or missing hardware, but it sure was a pain to pick it all out piece by piece. A little better quality assurance on the packing would be greatly appreciated. OVERALL: - Very pleased with their performance. They are "instant on" with the flick of the switch and are extremely bright, even with the opaque plastic tubes surrounding the LEDs. - If I could, I would rate these 4.5 out of 5 stars just because of the poor packing quality. Let's hope they last. Read more

Very very nice shop lights for a great price. These just came today. Every one works fine. They are super lightweight and will be easy to install. I saw some reviews complain that they're too light. Yeah, they are light, but what does that matter? Very very happy. Read more

I have now installed 36 of these lights in 3 different shops over a three year period. The firzt 16 that I installed are all still operating fine after three years. In the first box of 16, all lights worked. In the second 16, I had one bad light. I asked to replace just the one light, but I was sent 16 more. I had to take out one of the good lights, put the bad light in with the other 15 and sent the entire box back. The final four lights that I ordered, all worked fine. These lights are very bright, lightweight and easy to install. The led tubes are plastic, not glass. I did not like this when I first got them, but now I prefer the plastic to glass. I accidentally dropped one of them onto my workbench and worried that I had broken it. It was fine, but had it been glass, I'd of had a mess. Also, some of the lights sit low enough to accidentally hit with long boards. They could break tubes made of glass. There is a circuit board in each of the lights that is more likely to fail before the LED tubes, but so far all of my 36 lights have been good. (20 of them are new, the other 16, three years in use) I hung the lights from the provided chains using only Kotter pins that I spread open on the other side of a hole in the metal ceiling support. The lights I daisy chained together easily with no problems. I have yet to find anything to complain about with these lights. They have made 3 dim workshops bright as day. Read more

Great shop light. I have a 48 X 24 shop. The 10 Pack did a fine job of lighting it up. These lights are so light and easy to install. I used attachment tape for mine and worked great. But still put a screw in each end. Love the fact you can just plug the cord right into the next light. 4 lights max hooked together. I have them all of mine on 3 switches. Work bench, Boat area and dual car area. Read more
