Purchase: Sylvania 65W, 800 lumens, 2700K (soft white) BR30 flood lamp. Use: Over kitchen sink. This product is no longer being carried in the Big Box stores so I was happy to find it on-line. Most of the 65 W flood lamps in stores are just 650 lumens and I wanted the 800 lumens. The 5 star rating is based on the last one I purchased that lasted 9 years. Very Bright, Narrow Beam

This bulb is excellent, Very Bright, Narrow Beam, it ls labelled as a 45º beam, but its hotspot is a bit less than that (narrower) so it appears to be halfway between a spotlight and a floodlight, which is fine for our use. The color is daylight and compared to our other daylight bulbs this one actually looks more like daylight than the others (too many daylight bulbs are noticeable blue, which is not a bad thing) which we really like because in this particular application we wanted something that produces accurate colors which these do. They are very lightweight which we really appreciate because we have to use them in a hard to access fixture that itself is lightweight so I needed a bulb that did not weigh it down, this bulb was perfect and did not put any load on the fixture. We like it enough that we now use them in our closets and storage room because they are so bright (yes in a closet or storage room) there is a noticeable hotspot but it works fine, they are very well lit and the hotspot allows us to hold an object in the hotspot for careful inspection, this saves us a trip to the bench to turn on that bright light so its very convenient for us to use these bright bulbs.
