While I played with Legos as a child, I’ve never had one of these large adult kits, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. I bought this as a gift, so I did not do the assembly, but I did carefully inspect the contents. This kit is HUGE and there are a lot of parts—bag after bag, all clearly labeled to help keep the build organized. It also includes a brown envelope with two manuals: one for the ship base and one for the saucer section. The instructions rely heavily on clear illustrations with minimal text, which makes them easy to follow and less intimidating than dense, text‑heavy manuals. All of the components feel high quality and well made. Nothing about this comes across as cheap or flimsy, and the finished model is clearly intended as a serious display piece rather than a quick casual build. I think this would make a fantastic gift for someone who loves Star Trek, especially “The Next Generation,” since fans usually have their preferred series. I’d consider it best suited for teens and adults, or as a project an adult and older child can work on together. There are many tiny pieces, and it’s obvious you’ll need patience, focus, and attention to detail to complete it successfully. If you really want to take it to the next level, I’d look for a lighting kit designed for this model to highlight the size and details. Even without that, it makes a very large, impressive ship replica that’s going to stand out wherever it’s displayed. This thing is incredible! I am a huge Star Trek TNG fan, so I had pretty high standards. I was ready to point out how boring or plain some parts would be, but wow, no. It is perfect, with so many details. One thing that really cracked me up right away is the trombone included with the Riker figure. I cannot believe they included his trombone! Picard with his cup of Earl Grey tea, Data with his cat Spot, even Guinan and the "green drink" from the Relics episode, where Data simply says, "It's green," before pouring a glass for Scotty. There are a decent bit of printed parts, but there are still a fair bit of stickers too. There is a bit of repetitiveness with some parts of course, especially the big circular section, but that is to be expected with a build like this honestly. I had no issues building it, but be warned, it is a huge build and there are a lot of bags, so it could be a shock if you have not built many large sets. Overall yeah, it is a fantastic set with a few little hidden references to the show, and it is a solid build. I think it is worth every penny for avid fans of the series! Read more

This is BEYOND anything I could have imagined. It includes EVERY detail I could possibly want in this build, along with ALL my favorite characters. Everything is well-made and the building instructions are easy to follow. The pictures are easy to recognize as you work along step by step. The LEGO pieces clip together flawlessly without any hiccups. The colors are as depicted and come to life while building. The value for the set is wonderful, given how many pieces you get in the set and how HUMUNGOUS the finished result is. It is a FUN project and will have the entire family looming over with anticipation. This is one of those masterpieces you will want to display behind an acrylic covering. The nerd in me is happier than Captain Kirk was to go to space!! This set is a dream set, that's for sure. It is large and intimidating and is everything one could want in a collectible Lego set!
