LEOFOTO PS-2 Phone Holder Cell Phone Stand Adjustable Angle Compact and Portable 1 4 Screw Thread Arca Compatible

There have been a lot of Chinese brands getting into the photo accessories business over the last several years. Many sell low-end goods that are available under multiple different brand names. A handful offer nice, well-made products at a fraction of the price that these products have been sold for in the past. Leofoto is one of the latter. Their products are consistently excellent and their value-per-dollar is typically off the charts. When it comes to the PS-2 smartphone clamp, the quality is excellent and the design is the best I've seen in this product category. It is compact when collapsed. Its integrated stand allows it to be used on a table top or other flat surface on its own, without a tripod, and the fact that its stand can be converted to an Arca-compatible plate is genius. It is tiltable to any angle with the perfect amount of tension right out of the box. (Tension is adjustable if you happen to feel differently.) And the phone clamp itself uses a spring rather than a screw to make inserting and removing a phone a quick and effortless process. The spring closure is robust enough that there will never be an issue with the phone coming out on its own. (Pro-tip: Follow Leofoto's instructions and use the edge of the phone to open the jaws of the clamp. It's the easiest way.) The PS-2 is a little more expensive for what it is than most of Leofoto's other products. Prior to using it, I would have expected the price to be a little lower. After using it, I believe the PS-2 is easily worth the asking price. Build quality, flexibility, and the fact that you don't have to buy a separate Arca plate for it all make it an easy recommend. Buy with confidence. Finally, a word about sellers. To my knowledge, Amazon doesn't sell Leofoto products. They are only available from third-party sellers, of which there are several. Super Photo Gear is the seller I strongly recommend. He is here on Amazon as well as eBay. I've never dealt with a better, more responsive seller for this type of merchandise. Incredible piece of equipment - however, the only downside is that the legs have been assembled with grommets instead of screws… so it is not possible to tighten the legs, and if the grommets fall/ become weak they can be flimsy. Previous models had screws; there was no reason for the change but perhaps that might be different soon? Despite this, 5 stars great equipment! Read more

Solid, well made option for either tripod head mounting or table top use. If I had to nitpick, the only change I'd like to see is a screw type adjustment in place of the spring-loaded phone holder, but that is just my preference. It would make inserting or removing the phone a bit easier. I do like the cold-shoe and 1/4-20 mount options provided, allowing you to mount other items along with your phone.
