We have the “LEVOIT Air Purifier for Home Allergies Pet Hair in Bedroom” and we use the “LEVOIT Genuine Core 300-P Replacement Filter” which is the standard HEPA and activated carbon filter. At the start, we took out the filter every week to gently vacuum it; now, it’s every two weeks. It will be obvious to you how many particles it captures in your space, besides all the small ones you don’t see that the carbon part of the filter traps. It’s recommended that you replace the filters every 6-8 months, depending on the environment. In our case, we typically replace ours after 6 months because we live where there is a lot of pollen for most of the year. Yes, they cost a bit more than the knock-offs, but you're paying for quality and efficiency. When it comes to the air you're breathing, it's not worth cutting corners.
