I've used the other Live Fine with multiple cups, but no connectivity. That one is perfect for those slightly less technically savvy and don't need monitoring. This one though, shines in that the doses are presented and "tipped out" over the other which requires opening and closing the dose cup. This also makes this one faster to load as you don't need to open them individually. I suppose there's some risk in filling that you might put a wrong dose in by putting it in the cup next to it, but if you're paying attention it should be ok. There are a lot of good things about this pill dispenser. However I'm having trouble getting past the most annoying thing about it, which is that it has to be kept plugged in, or else the batteries die after just a couple of days. At that rate you'd go through a warehouse club pack of batteries every month or two, which is very expensive. Considering the high price point of this item, one would think it could have been made USB rechargeable so it wouldn't have to be plugged in at all times! That being said, the dispenser itself is very nice. Considering it's not huge, it holds a surprising amount of pills, including some of my larger supplements like fish oil soft gels. It's complicated, but not difficult, to follow the instructions and get it set up for initial use, but once it's set up, it's very easy to use. I love that I can get an alarm not only on the dispenser, but a notification on my phone as well! I don't always eat breakfast, so I have a tendency to forget to take my morning pills if I don't eat. This effectively would prevent me from forgetting to take them! The lid closes very securely, and I love that it locks in case there are small children or a elderly adults with cognitive issues in the household. This pill dispenser is nice for those with memory problems, young or old, who need automatically dispensed meds at the right times. The WiFi connectivity is good but needs improvement. I don't like that it is not stand-alone -- it requires connectivity through the company's app. In this day and age, yet one more app on my phone is just needless. It should allow control with Amazon Alexa, Google, Samsung Smartthings, or Apple rather than a proprietary app from another company. It's easy to organize the pills for up to 28 days. As another reviewer said, this thing needs to be kept plugged in, as it will otherwise just eat through AA batteries. Poor design in that regard especially for the very steep price point! There should be an internal rechargeable lithium battery that allows up to the full 28 days on a single charge. The locking mechanism is nice to avoid tampering, for example by someone who might have dementia issues. There were setup and connection issues which were quite frustrating, and I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, so for my elderly parents this would have been impossible for them. Size is appropriate, but durability in terms of battery life is terrible. It's a good idea but needs multiple design improvements to demand the price point asked here. Read more
