If you are looking for a quality external webcam look no further. My son had this, similar model but without the cap, and I borrowed his for a few days. I was so impressed by the quality of video and audio both, that I ordered one for myself. This model with the cap is very useful as I can keep it closed and open it only when I want to go on video, thus preventing any accidental or unwanted exposure. The microphone on this is very impressive. I used to have a separate USB microphone that I used for my online meetings and I had to speak into it closely for proper volume. But now, I don't use it anymore as the mic on this camera is very sensitive and picks up my voice easily from a 2-3 ft distance. It just feels so natural to be on video calls now. This model was recommended by my college university. It works pretty well. pictures are very clear and set up is a breeze. Autofocus is great as I usually need to show my Picture ID to show my proctor when taking online proctored exams. Great buy pre=Covid-19, during Covid-19 and post. Wanted one with the security/ privacy cover (no longer offered new, only the coverless are available now). Arrived looking like new! Great image quality in average lower lighting. Mounted right to my monitor with the included grip. Plug and play so don't worry about getting it running, it's going to work right out of the box If you find these out of stock and have a 3D printer, print your own cover, it's just a snap on cover anyways. I'd used the integrated camera on my laptop for years. This is a great improvement. Better resolution, better focus, better light handling. And being able to have it mounted higher meant a much better picture angle. It's the camera that a friend that does weekly professional video shows recommended. This camera works so well!! The program used to change settings works really well for making sure the shot is all set up. Also, mine ended up not coming with the privacy shutter, but the company is sending one out for me, even though I said it wasn’t necessary!!
