The bass is punchy, and the highs are clear -- and that's having both only turned up halfway. The knob on the front of the satellite makes it easy turn on/off, but I did put some whiteout in the hole to better see where the volume is set. The LED on above the knob helps identify if the speaker is on/off. It's a great fit for my home office without being over-the-top, and it's compatible with any device that has a headphone jack. Before I purchased these speakers, I poked around on the internet looking for reviews. I wasn't sure about buying these because of some bad reviews. I don't regret it at all. They are amazing speakers with great sound quality and it takes less than 15 minutes to set them up. With the bass control, you can adjust it to wherever you like, loud, soft, or even none. The sound quality is very great, but not the best. Don't get me wrong, they still sound great. But when you start listening to very fancy speakers at about $300-400 they get even better. I think that the people who are giving the bad reviews are people who have had very nice speakers. The Bose computer monitor speakers have better sound quality, but they are $400. These are fabulous speakers. And for the price, you can't go wrong. So these speakers are pretty amazing. The sound quality is great, they look nice, they are easy to set up, and are just super cool. If you are a real speaker freak and know all about the good, the bad, and the ugly, then you may not like these. But as a novice, I'd say these speakers are at about a 4.5/5 stars. The sound quality is amazing, but could be better. I can't complain about it though because with the price, you can't go wrong. If you are looking for some fairly cheap and nice speakers with good sound quality that look nice, then you can't go wrong with the Logitech Z323 Speakers. (By the way, I have only listened to music with these speakers so far. I haven't tried it on my TV or XBOX yet. But music sounds amazing.) Read more
Bought these for my son to use with a Google Chromecast Audio. It's being saved for a Christmas gift, but we went ahead & opened it and tested it out to make sure it worked properly and was of good quality. Overall, it will be perfect for a 9-year-old that loves music. I was worried that the speakers were damaged during shipping, because although they were packed tightly in the Logitech box, there was no Styrofoam or padding of any kind. Then the Logitech box was packaged inside an Amazon box that was a bit big and instead of putting the normal air-filled plastic to fill up the space, there was just a crumpled up piece of brown paper on one side. I don't get it - Amazon ships my toilet paper with a dozen of those air-filled bags, but they send me my $50 speakers with no padding?? Sorry, I digress. Luckily, they were perfectly fine without a single scratch on them. The first time I tested them out, I set them up in our living room (large space, but only an 8' ceiling) & I used my Samsung Galaxy S7 to play some Pitbull on the Google Play Music app. I turned the bass and volume all the way up on the speakers and the volume on my phone about 2/3rd of the way up. It sounded just okay. The treble seemed slightly tinny and the bass was good but not great. And for $50 I was actually disappointed and told my husband to please check them out himself because I was of the opinion that they should be returned. Well, he hooked up the Google Chromecast Audio to them (since that is what my son will be using) and set them up in my son's room (smaller space than the living room, but has a cathedral vaulted ceiling). It sounded GREAT! So overall, I think the quality you get out of these is going to be dependent on what device you have them hooked up to. Maybe my phone's sound is not at the optimal settings. But if you hook a Google Chromecast Audio to these speakers, you won't be disappointed. They obviously don't sound as good as our 6 speaker surround sound system, but for $50 I think these are a good value. Read more
