I’m someone who rarely wore makeup. I didn’t like the way it felt on my face and I only wore it on special occasions. However, I’m over 45 now and have a few freckles and dark spots and thought I should start a skincare and makeup routine. I ran into problems trying to find a shade match in the beauty store. After doing a lot of swatching at the beauty store and finding some foundations that seemed close, I was disappointed that one of the better marching ones oxidized and turned orange/bronze on me after a few hours. I tried again with Nyx Blur and L’Oreal Infalliable. The Nyx was terrible on my skin. Wrong shade, but it also looked weird - runny and patchy. The L’Oreal Infalliable 460 Golden Beige was very close, but just a hair orangey to me after wearing it. I decided to go a shade down and switched to a neutral undertone rather than warm, because this foundation was perfect in every other way - it had less oxidation than the previous Maybelline powder foundation I tried, it had better coverage (medium to full), and it was soft and light on my skin. I took a chance and ordered the 455 Natural Buff. I’m in love!! This is the closest shade match I’ve found. I put it on my face and it looked good. I decided to try some on my neck, which can sometimes look slightly lighter than my face, and the makeup on my neck was almost imperceptible from my skin. When I showed my partner my makeup and sent photos to my best friend, both said the foundation looked exactly like my skin and it didn’t look like I was wearing makeup. The quality of the makeup is good. There is a very slight tackiness to it, but it’s not unpleasant. It also seems more hydrating compared to the Nyx makeup. It’s also easy to build up. I can wear it as medium coverage with one coat or full coverage if I layer more on. When I use two coats, it looks very nice and smooth in photos. I would happily buy this again and recommend it to others. This is probably the best quality of makeup I’ve used, apart from a brief period of using bare minerals. And I like that L’Oreal offers a nice shade range so it’s easier to find your matching color. Having fair, olive-toned skin can be hard to find the right match for! Read more

This has been my go-to foundation for almost two years now. It’s more of a matte finish which I prefer and it was very easy to find my shade match. This foundation is a buildable coverage. It dries quickly, so you do need to move fast when blending. However, since it is more of a matte finish, I wouldn’t recommend it to those with super dry skin. Read more

This makeup is truly amazing. I was laying on my stomach, my face was face down on a table in the dr's office for about 30 minutes. when I sat up I noticed there was no makeup on the white paper that they cover the table with. I really expected to see a mess when I got up, but I was amazed that I didn't see any at all. I was changing positions constantly trying to get more comfortable and I rubbed my face many times on the paper. That made me a believer of this makeup. I'm 73 and my facial skin has become dryer, I was always combination/normal when younger. I put on a very small amount of moisturizer before applying the makeup and this works perfect for me. I actually look healthy and a bit younger with this makeup. it does not crease and looks very natural and covers my age spots very well. I am fair to light skin tone blonde/silver hair with pale green eyes and the shade 411 has worked out quite well. I like a little cool tone and this is not too pink. I don't know why anyone would not like this makeup unless they have very dry skin and their not using a moisturizer. Loreal has made the perfect make up and I'm ditching the expensive Estee lauder double wear forever. I don't think I will ever have to search for another makeup. I'm so glad I found this, I think it's even better than the double wear and so affordable. Loreal, thank you for a great product, keep up the great work. Read more

Foundation has a good full buildable coverage that lasted throughly the day. Did not oxidize! However removing star because this particular bottle has the worst chemical smell. Going to try setting with a more fragrant setting spray to see if that covers the smell or else I will be returning it unfortunately. Read more

I love this foundation so much - I keep going back to it and have for many years. it applies with a natural texture and provides a slightly glowy, very healthy look while still having good coverage and being buildable. it's not very thick - it's like applying moisturizer, really. I think I find it works better WITHOUT primer (but definitely WITH setting spray!). it also doesn't tend to cake up above the lip and on the sides of your nose, and it's not bad about settling into lines around the eyes, though after a long day, I will kind of blend it a bit around the eyes - it can only do so much! it smells lovely and the fragrance dissipates after you've had it on a few minutes. dries pretty quickly, but not so quickly you can't spend a little bit of time blending just right. I've also applied it thickly, waited 30-45 seconds, THEN blended it out when I've got areas that need extra coverage. I usually use a fluffy brush to apply Revlon ColorStay powder lightly over it to set it and give a touch of mattification to my nose, chin and forehead and to set the foundation more on my jawline... before applying setting spray - usually e.l.f. Stay All Night on my cheeks, forehead and neck, and Urban Decay All-Nighter over my eyes. Read more
