I'm currently pregnant and wanted to find a whitening strip that didn't contain harmful chemicals. These were one of the mildest brands I could find. I honestly couldn't be happier with the product! So much whiter within less than a week of use!! I didn't use any other whitening products like toothpastes or mouthwashes. This review is based solely on the use of the Lumineux strips. I think the photo speaks for itself! Each picture was taken in as much natural daylight as I could get on that particular day, so it's pretty true to reality and the results were surprisingly quick and impressive! Application: They're a little tricky to apply at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straight forward. I find that drying the teeth and gums with a cotton ball or swab ahead of time (fronts and backs and gums) really helps to make sure they don't slide around for initial application. I also found it a bit more difficult to apply the bottom ones when compared to the top. Take your time, brush with a wet (no toothpaste) toothbrush, rinse your mouth with water, then dry teeth and gums thoroughly prior to applying. During Use: The sticky side will begin to thicken and gel as soon as it comes into contact with saliva. That's why it's important to dry before applying...they'll slide around otherwise. But, once applied, I found that they stay in place well and most importantly...NO sensitivity!!! I was so excited about that part! Most other teeth whitening products I've tried in the past have hurt my teeth very badly. After Use: Lumineux is the first product I've tried where I had no sensitivity during OR after use. Uppon removal of the strips, you'll notice plenty of gel clinging to your teeth. I find rinsing my mouth and swishing water followed by a light brushing with water only helps to remove it easily. You may notice some brighter white spots on your teeth at first, but don't panic! This usually only occurs on the raised portions of your teeth and it disappears in less than a day. I tried this teeth whitening product after seeing it on social media. It works well for whitening and is true to its claims that it does not cause sensitivity. It was a little more difficult to place correctly and slipped a little sometimes (that's why I only gave it 4 stars) But I will purchase this again because I feel it is healthier for my teeth. I bought this product because it uses more natural additives and I wanted to see how it compared to the name brand whitening strips. I’ve used the name brands strips off and on, with good results and just a little bit of sensitivity. Here are my pros and cons on these whitening strips. Pros: The taste is much better than the others I’ve used It has fewer chemicals than the others I’ve used. It looks like only one or two ingredients are synthetic, probably only one It doesn’t make my teeth any more sensitive than usual Cons: The strips don’t stick as well as the others I’ve tried. They are pretty slippery when you put them on but after a while they don’t move as much While they do whiten, I’m not getting as much results as with the others. I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks and typically see more results by now The worst character of this product is the gummy residue left behind when you remove them. It is really, really thick. You can’t just swish water around your mouth to remove it. I’ve found that even a toothbrush doesn’t remove all of it, just most of it. Unless I also use my waterpik first, I feel like there is still a coating on my teeth. When I use my waterpik it leaves residue in the sink that has to be wiped off and can’t just be washed down with water. This is not a product you would want to use on your way to work and expect to go in before you brush your teeth. Overall, I think this product, for me anyway, is one I would use more for touch-ups between using the name brands. The lack of sensitivity is a big plus for me. Read more
