Beauty AND Brawn!! This Moka Pot has it ALL!! PLUS, second to NONE customer service!!

My husband purchased the Luxhaus 9 cup Moka Pot for us back in early 2023. That was before it was upgraded to the current model with the hinge now being steel as opposed to the original which was housed in plastic. And as you can see the new model also has a little heat-resistant knob on top for your convenience and safety as well. The truth is that we never had any issues or problems with the plastic hinge as some others have had, though, seeing it was plastic, I always just made sure to handle it with care. However, it is fastened with some very sturdy metal screws and, quite frankly, really solidly attached and holding up beautifully. I couldn't help but notice that some of the customer photos in the reviews showed pots that didn't look very well-cared for as far as cleaning, which left me wondering if some of the issues they had experienced with this moka pot were possibly just due to rough handling? And, believe me, I hesitated to mention that as I truly don't want to sound rude or offensive. But I'm just comparing those reviews to the experience we've had of having absolutely no problems with this moka pot. And I think the photo showing how well-cared for this little pot has been may also prove that a little extra TLC for it will be sure to repay you with many wonderful pots of coffee made in this moka pot for years to come. I've simply washed it after each use with soapy warm water, thoroughly rinsed and dried it as soon as possible after each use. My hope is that others reading this review will not take offense to me saying that, but rather take it more as a handy little bit of information gently and lovingly shared that will help to ensure you being a happy customer who will enjoy using this moka pot for years to come. So now moving on to my self-incurred glitch, I had contacted the company due to a need to purchase a couple of small replacement parts because of my failure to read the instruction manual before using and experienced a user error of my own doing. So, PLEASE, do yourself a huge favor and read through the instruction manual that comes with your Moka Pot! I had mixed raw cacao powder in with the coffee in the filter and tamped it all down pretty hard (coffee is not supposed to be tamped at all in this pot)...both of which are both BIG no-no's, as very clearly indicated in their handy little 'How to Use' manual...and also left my filter plate a bit mangled. I sent an e-mail to the company and heard back from the Founder and Owner of the company, who insisted on sending me a brand new replacement pot even though I clearly explained that what I experienced was due to my own negligence and error and not at all to do with anything inferior or faulty with the moka pot! I was just trying to purchase a couple of replacement parts, due to my idiotic mistake, or at least find out who he recommended I purchase compatible replacement parts from. He noticed from the photo I attached that I had the older model with the plastic hinge housing and because they don't currently sell replacement parts, he went above and beyond and sent me a whole new upgraded model! The new model is just as fantastic as its original counterpart!! As you can see in my photo that I snapped just today, with the older (almost 2 1/2 year old) pot on the left and the brand new one on the right, it looks like they're both brand new and maybe unused. However, that is not the case. The one on the left is just a very well-loved and well-taken care of moka pot! From the time my husband showed it to me on Amazon at the time of the order to the time it arrived in it's very special magnetic gift box, I knew that the aptly named Luxhaus Moka Pot was special and should be cared for accordingly! And the new one, is no different! They are both obviously gorgeous and and super solid, heavy little pots of a very high grade of highly polished stainless steel. And they both make such delicious, rich cups of coffee that make both every day coffee time and special times with loved ones extra memorable! So, as you can see, this moka pot is the real deal and truly has it ALL: Beauty AND Brawn!! But, also, keep in mind, that a product is only as good as the company behind it. And I believe my review speaks well to the fact that you will be hard pressed to find a company that stands behind it's products as this company has...and who cares more about their customers and their satisfaction as Luxhaus does! And that is extremely important to both me and to my husband. With all of that said, I obviously highly recommend anyone shopping for a moka pot to purchase one of these beauties as I don't believe you'll be disappointed!!! Read more

Works great. Makes amazing coffee!

Yes to THIS. The first thing you'll notice, after using your old aluminum mocha pot is – the brew time is way faster with the Luxhaus. My old one took forever. Probably the seal. The Luxhaus instructions urged customers 'not' to overfill the basket and 'not' to tamp... but this heats, brews/extracts so quickly (like, it begins to brew at about the 2 minute mark depending on if you've pre-heated your water and/or the temperature you heat it), I've been able to ignore their concerns. So, I'm filling the basket full, I'm tamping and I've just started using a little finer grind, not that I want to slow down the extraction, I just want a rich cup of espresso. If you're just wanting a great cup of coffee that tastes more like an Americano – fill the basket, tamp a bit, grind 'medium' - about like a commercial grind. Delicious also. Note: I read all the reviews here first but pushed past some of the complaints because they sounded like they came from consumers who have little experience with coffee making in general... i.e. various brewing techniques, grind, etc. I think a lot of coffee lovers who use a stove top espresso maker simply over-heat. You don't need a super high flame if you're using gas. I use the smallest size on my gas stove and set it to maybe low/medium. You do want a fast extraction so it might help to heat up your filtered water first. Not necessary but I sometimes do it. Also, don't wait around for that last foamy spew to burble out. Pour your coffee as soon as the upper 'collector' is full – like at the very moment all the sputtering begins... cuz the longer your coffee heats or boils, the more bitter it will taste. Anyway, in my graphic designerly opinion, this mocha pot is beautiful, both in form and function. It's stainless steel (stop using your aluminum one; toxic/heavy metals might cause neurodegenerative issues), easy to clean (soap/water). I've only had it for about a month but so far and true – I don't use it every morning because I have a Breville, a clever dripper, an Aeropress, pour-over devices, etc. I like to mix it up. But this is always in the mix. So far, I have 0 complaints. I think the designers/manufacturers crushed it with this mocha pot. I love it. Read more
