I surprised my husband with the MANSCAPED® The Lawn Mower® 5.0 Ultra Groin & Body Hair Trimmer as a cheeky anniversary gift (because who doesn't love a well-manicured "lawn"?), and after a month of use, he's converted me into his biggest fan. Priced around $90-100 (often on sale), this dual-head beast has upgraded his grooming routine from cautious clippers to a confident, spa-like ritual. No more awkward nicks or post-shave irritation—he's raving about how easy and effective it is for everything from below-the-belt basics to full-body touch-ups. If you're gifting (or treating) someone who values precision without the pain, this trimmer delivers big time! What We Love: SkinSafe® Dual Heads for Zero Drama: The interchangeable trimmer and foil blades are a revelation—the rounded ceramic trimmer blade with its built-in metal guard glides over sensitive skin like butter, trimming close without pulling or cutting. My husband switches to the foil head for an even smoother finish on the groin or chest, and it's caught longer hairs first with those pre-trim teeth before polishing everything at skin level. No redness or bumps afterward, even on his trickier areas—total game-changer compared to his old trimmer that left him paranoid. LED Spotlight for Precision in Tricky Spots: That built-in dual flashlight is genius—illuminates everything like a mini surgery suite, making it easy to navigate curves and contours without missing a thing. He's used it in the shower (fully waterproof up to IPX7) and dry, and the light helps avoid mishaps every time. Plus, the adjustable combs (1.4mm fixed, 2-12mm adjustable) let him customize length for body hair on arms, back, or legs—no one-size-fits-all hassle. Powerful Battery and Travel-Ready: The USB-C rechargeable battery lasts a solid 60 minutes on a charge, plenty for multiple sessions without dying mid-trim. It's cordless, quiet, and comes with a sleek travel pouch—perfect for his gym bag or our weekend getaways. The ergonomic grip feels premium in hand, and the quiet motor doesn't buzz like cheaper models. Versatile for Full-Body Grooming: Beyond the groin, it's tackled his chest, armpits, and even back (with a little mirror help) effortlessly. The SkinSafe tech makes it safe for wet/dry use, and cleanup is a breeze—just rinse the heads under water. Any Downsides? It's a bit pricier than basic trimmers, and the adjustable combs can feel slightly finicky if you're switching lengths mid-session (a quick quirk, nothing major). For occasional groomers, an older model might suffice, but for regular use, the upgrades are worth it. Final Verdict: The Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra has made grooming feel less like a chore and more like self-care—my husband says it's the smoothest, safest trim he's ever had, and he's already eyeing the full Performance Package for extras like the Crop Soother lotion. It's thoughtful, effective, and hilariously branded, making it an ideal gift for the man in your life who appreciates quality (and a good laugh). We've got no regrets—highly recommend for anyone ditching the razor risks for pro-level results!4.7sFast Read more

An overall well rounded machine for mowing your lawn. It’s smooth and doesn’t pull hairs, comes with a few different sized clippers along with a different head to get skin-smooth cuts. Its battery is reliable and I’ve yet to have issues with the waterproofing. I’ve been able to use it comfortably in the shower without questioning its durability. I wouldn’t go so far to say it’s ultra tough (I haven’t tried to break test it or anything). But there’s no need to worry that it’ll die on you. I’ll say the travel lock mechanism on “The Lawn Mower” is nice. But so long as you have the carrying case that comes with it, you’ll never have an issue of it turning on unexpectedly. It’s decently fast and has a unique design to the actual clippers to prevent any accidental cuts. Read more

The easy use, size, and power are all on point. However, this did not work well with my hair type. My 2 sons love it. Works well for them. Read more

This is a great trimmer for body hair. It works on thick hair, but also has an attachment to get a very close shave. Easy to use, and it’s cordless/rechargeable so convenient. Read more

I picked up the Lawn Mower 5.0 Ultra to upgrade from a basic trimmer and it has been a noticeable improvement, especially for sensitive areas. The dual head setup is actually useful. I use the regular trimmer head for general body hair and switch to the foil head when I want a closer, smoother finish. The SkinSafe design does make it feel more forgiving than a regular clipper, as long as you take your time and use short, controlled strokes. The waterproof feature is a big plus since I prefer to do most grooming in the shower. It rinses clean under running water and I have not had any issues with it slipping in the hand. Battery life has been solid so far and the USB C charging is convenient since it matches my other chargers. The included travel case keeps everything together and makes it easy to throw in a bag without loose attachments everywhere. If I had to nitpick, it still can tug a bit if you rush or go against longer hair without trimming it down first, but that is true of most trimmers. Overall, it feels like a well thought out tool that makes below the belt and body grooming a lot easier and more comfortable. Read more

This works great very effective, well built. Much better and versatile than the cheaper versions. Took a little time to understand the different trimming heads (the best features) The best part is wetting face with water which lubricates the blades making it a very smooth experience. Read more

I was conflicted worrying this review, because it's such a popular product & brand, but, it's been a disappointment to me personally. I know this is meant as a body trimmer (specifically advertised for your "sensitive" parts) - but my son and I used this to trim our facial hair - along with arms & legs (he's a competitive swimmer). The problem is that it seems underpowered, or too slow to cut the hairs - so instead it yanks/pulls the hair often. This is quite painful as you can imagine, so I use it sparingly - and have not even tried on the "other" areas (which is what it's marketed for). Also, the foil shaver works great on the face & neck - but the blade seems to be constructed to break rather wiggle, with replacements being extremely expensive (~$20/each)! I'm thinking of trying one of the earlier models. I can't imagine they were so successful as a company if all their earlier models were as bad at doing what they were designed to do... Worst part is I also purchased a 2nd (testicular cancer SE) for my son to take to college, where he competes in NCAA swim. Read more
