I wanted a pair of sunglasses to wear for outdoor activities, primarily beach volleyball, running, hiking. I don't like the look of super-sporty/obnoxious glasses out in the market, so I really liked the look of these basic black frames. The lenses are slightly silver, but still subtle. The best part is that they are feather-light, barely feel them on your face. The adjustable nose pads are discreet and keep the glasses from sliding down no matter how sweaty I get. Even when the sun is directly above me, there is minimal gap at the top between my forehead and the frames, so I don't even need a visor or hat. Maui Jim's are always crystal clear, it doesn't even feel like you are wearing any glasses. These are the best active sunglasses. Now I just need a dressy pair that go with my regular outfits. I really liked these when I first got them. Comfortable and nice looking, lightweight, etc. Then the polarized lenses delaminated after about 3 months. sent them to Maui Jim and they replaced the lenses for “free” except the processing charge. The new lenses were fine for about 4 months and now they’re also delaminated. I can barely see through them. I’m torn about sending them back too. Not sure it’s worth another $10 to have what are essentially disposable sunglasses. $250 disposable sunglasses. I ordered some Ray Bans and Oakleys to try. Read more

I like the weight, the lens quality, and the fit, until I really looked at them on my face. They were sitting a little crooked, so I adjusted them, and they still weren't quite right. After several attempts to get them to sit right, I put them down on a flat countertop and they were pretty severely warped. The right temple piece was on the counter, and the left was close to a half inch in the air. No matter what I did, I could not get them to sit even close to level, so sadly, I am returning them. This is my second pair of Maui Jims and I could not be happier with them. Much lighter than my previous ones now worn by somebody in TSA or the United Airlines Baggage who stole them out of my checked luggage two weeks ago. Very well constructed as you would expect from Maui Jim. Visual clarity and accuracy of color are outstanding. They are simply a cut above anything I have found on the market at any price. Read more
