I am super hard on sunglasses with lots of fairly extreme outdoor activities. I am on my 5th pair of these after abusing their predecessors by running over them, being hit in face with a branch while mountain biking, dropping 50’ onto boulders, etc. It takes a lot to hurt them. The optics are spectacular, the fit and comfort is great, there is nothing not to like. My favorite color is the amber because they work great in bright sunlight and also on overcast days. Read more

Super Lightweight glasses; I absolutely love them for driving or working outside! I purchased these specifically because I'm a baseball scorekeeper and must be able to read/enter data into an iPad outdoors for long hours in the blinding sun. I was hoping these glasses would give me the eye protection needed to see across the baseball field and at the same time give me an improved ability to view my iPad screen to enter plays. Unfortunately the Polarized lenses prevent me from seeing my iPad at all - the screen is black, literally!!! :( Now if I had a newer generation iPad with the Retina display, these would probably work just fine. Even still, like some of the other reviews I read prior to making the purchase, I do find that you have to hold your head at just the right angle to be able to view reading material through the reader portion - which is why I'm only giving the glasses 4 Stars. If your expectation is to use these primarily for distance viewing, with just the occasional use of the Reader portion of the glasses, you're going to love them. As far as them being "fragile", I consistently put them back in the case when they're not on my face, and after nearly a year of constant use, I have no scratches, and they are holding up perfectly fine. I love my Maui Jim more than I thought I would. Read more

Great Maui Jim's- with reader lenses. Lightweight on your face. Makes it easier for me to keep a pair of good looking readers when I am running, ridding, or driving. The reader lenses are not obvious either. Read more

The "Reader" portion is on the bottom and magnifies to 1.50. It's disappointingly small. I end up raising my head to view more reading material. Would return if I didn't already use them on vacation. They are super light which is fabulous. Grey lens is super clear but I'd switch to amber if I could. Wish MJ had more reader options. Bad that no stores have these in stock to try on. We're all getting old MJ! Give us more choices! Read more

I’ve always used cheaper clones of these, but finally broke down and paid for the real thing. Blown away by the clarity of the lens compared to what I was used to. They’re light, comfortable, and once again the lens clarity is great. Won’t be going back to the cheapos any time soon. Read more
