When I re-cataloged and re-boxed my comics collection last year, I did a pretty good estimate of how many long boxes I would need, but I still came up a bit short (ended up needing 30). Because of the big quantity, I could go directly to the suppliers. My remaining boxes I purchased through Amazon and the products were noticeably less exacting. Now, as I begin replacing all my trade paperbacks with Omnibuses (Omnubi?), I decided to pick up some short boxes to plop those old books in. With such a small order, it was back to Amazon. In general, these short order boxes from Amazon sellers possibly reflect the "next tier" of quality. The group I received had the usual misalignment of edges and some of the perforated sides weren't perforated all the way. Again, I assume the machining on these boxes is not expected to be up to the same standards as buying from the source. However, given that, I am satisfied with the boxes. I live in South Florida, so all my boxes are indoors. That means no worries about bugs crawling into the gaps. Also, these boxes are a nice heavy-duty grade. I expect no durability issues with them. (In an odd paradox, the cardboard is so thick, that you probably lose a good trade paperback's width when counting both sides). Finally, the tops fit snugly, an often overlooked quality in storage boxes. For what I need them for, they are fine. Not engineered to launch rockets but safe enough to store your comics inside the home. Read more

Good standard sizes for bagged comics. The handles do not have the inner flaps that hold the side walls in place and provide a sturdier handhold. It's fine, just something to be aware of if you have a strong preference. Read more

Product is a typical short box, although a little longer than the older ones. As someone who is taking these things to conventions all over, I would like to see a water-proof or plastic case specifically for this use. What I have found at various stores tends to be too narrow, too wide or too tall for display purposes. Until someone comes up with that, collectors are stuck with there not-so-element resistant containers. Read more
