I thought it was beautiful and the size of the crock pot was just what I was looking for. But the lid is a joke. It's a monstrosity that's difficult to get off of the pot without burning yourself, and the big black handles on the sides are attached to the lid so you can't store anything in the pot without also having to store the lid as well. I could live with the lid being big and difficult to handle, but it doesn't seal properly either, so all of the heat and steam escapes, rendering it practically useless. I attempted to cook bean soup in this crockpot. I was so excited to take my dish to potluck. But imagine my surprise and chagrin when after the typical 6 hours of cooking time, they were still hard. I was determined to cook them anyway and eat them at home so I wouldn't have to throw them out - 8 quarts of bean soup is a lot. But 15 hours later all of my beans had turned black and were the UGLIEST beans I had ever seen. I was brave enough to try them and the skins were still tough. I thought at first that maybe it was the beans, so I took some out, and put them in my smaller three quart crockpot. 2 hours later they were cooked though still hideous. DO NOT BUY THIS CROCKPOT.
