Great gloves for diy jobs

bobbySeptember 19, 2024✓ Verified purchase

The Mechanix Wear Original Work Gloves are absolutely fantastic! I’ve been using them for a variety of tasks—everything from DIY projects to working on my car—and they have held up incredibly well. The synthetic leather provides great durability without sacrificing flexibility, making them comfortable to wear for extended periods. The fit is perfect (I ordered the medium), and the secure wrist closure keeps the gloves snugly in place, so I don’t have to constantly adjust them while working. I especially love the fact that they’re touchscreen capable, which allows me to use my phone or tablet without taking the gloves off—a huge convenience. The gloves provide excellent protection without feeling bulky, and the material is tough enough to withstand heavy use while still being breathable. Whether I’m handling tools, lifting materials, or doing more delicate work, these gloves provide the perfect balance of dexterity and toughness. Overall, the Mechanix Wear gloves are durable, versatile, and comfortable. If you need a reliable pair of gloves for any kind of work, these are an excellent choice. Highly recommend. Read more

Great Work or Protective Gloves

LES EJanuary 4, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Excellent work or just protective gloves. I’ve had one pair for prob 20 years, very worn but still usable. Size runs a little smaller maybe than years ago, I got the XL 11 and a pair of XXL12. Both fit fine one just a littles more snug. These are flexible and comfortable enough to use for driving in cold weather. Read more

Great work gloves!

These gloves are awesome and durable, the only issue I have is there’s no strap towards the wrist to pull them down when you put them on, I had to use a piece of 550 cord to make a loop through the little hole where they were attached to the packaging. Read more

Best working class gloves

Big GuyNovember 2, 2025✓ Verified purchase

This is probably my 3rd or 4th pair. Not because they wear put, because I keep losing them. Lol. These things go through everything with me. I have used them for cell searches at work, pulling electrical wire at home, picking up scrap metal, and shooting. The grip is excellent. Even wet I can grip like normal. For a long time I couldn't cut them. One day my knife slipped and cut one of the fingers. I thought they were unbreakable. The fit is spot on. I wear XL nitrile gloves at work and the XL Mechanix fit just the same. Not too small, not too tight, just right. Yes, I made sure it rhythm. Best advice I give is get 2 pairs. One pair will walk off or get lost. Read more

Bling for the workshop/pit area

Chaz TurbinoFebruary 18, 2012✓ Verified purchase

Mechanix Original Glove, Black, Large, 2012 Edition I just purchased these in early February 2012, so the design, description, and review is current as of the date. This is my third pair of Mechanix Original Gloves. I still have the Mechanix Off-Shore Oil Rig worker gloves that I use for skateboarding and outdoor sporting activities, and I had tried a pair of Mechanix M-Pact gloves but I didn't like those. The first pair of Mechanix Original gloves I had were from 2007. Those wore out fairly quickly but I kept sewing the holes in the fingers to prolong their useful life. I bought another pair in 2009, and the main differences were in the use of 65% Nylon / 35% Polyurethane all around the fingers. With the older 2007 pair, Mechanix used a more durable material on the sides of the fingers and those lasted 5 years without wearing down. But the 65/35 simulated leather was wearing down fast. With the 2009 pair, Mechanix changed the wrist strap to use more thermoplastic for protection, and the hook/loop material was changed. The hook material (stiff Velcro) is a more modern shortened material that tends to last longer. With these 2012 gloves, I noticed Mechanix changed the font on the back of the gloves and revised the wrist strap yet again. The thermoplastic is now much thicker and there is a space to write your initials/name on the ID: part of the wrist strap. The simulated leather material remained the same. I really like the Mechanix gloves because they are washable and I get a lot of grip/feeling with these. That said, I also am guilty of buying the less expensive knock-offs at Harbor Freight or the local store to use as shooting gloves or for wrenching. I generally use the Mechanix gloves when I am at work or in a professional shop environment - let's say I feel it is more like "bling" for the shop. But I don't discount the Mechanix quality, it's just that they all seem to wear out at the same rate, and they all provide the same level of low-impact protection. In the end, and to be brutally honest, the Mechanix gloves cost more for the name and branding. This is also why I am starting to like the Fast Fit gloves more because the knock-off brands don't seem to have that design. They imitate the original style more often. Overall: 4/5 stars, the most commonly used pair of gloves in the shop - kind of pricey, knock-offs seem to do the same job at a lower price, the 65/35 simulated leather tends to wear out quickly, and the Velcro straps are annoying when you need to take them off quickly. I would recommend looking at the Fast Fit gloves. Read more

Great gloves and works very well on touch screens.

Burton BartlettFebruary 24, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I work at Home Depot and these gloves are great for that. They are also great for touch screen use while wearing them. The screen reacts very well to a touch from these gloves. With the tip of the glove I can hit individual letters and numbers on the screen. Much better than the others I have tried. Great feel and while I have not tried washing them yet I like that feature.
