I'm very happy with this purchase. The scale shows the same weight when you step on and off, even if you try multiple times. It also shows the same weight when it is moved to a different location in the room. It turns on quickly and it resets fast so it's easy for more than one person to weigh in sequence. I have gained a lot of weight in the past two years and really have just started to get serious about dropping that weight. As such, I think it’s important to have a good scale to monitor my weekly progress and adjust my diet and exercise as needed in relation to my weight loss. I really like this scale for several reasons. Firstly, it’s flat and sturdy and appears to give an accurate read. Secondly, I love that the actual weight reader can be positioned anywhere above or at level with the step-on portion itself. It’s easier for me to use, especially in the mornings, because I have terrible vision and genuinely wouldn’t be able to read the number if it was at my feet. Finally, I love that you can use it either with batteries (and it comes with them!) or plug it in. This scale was easy to put together and use. It takes 4 AA batteries, and the batteries were provided. I wanted a scale to weigh my small dog. These are perfect for that purpose. You can choose metric measurement units if you prefer them over lbs. They are easy to wipe down. I am going to be installing a home gym, and I think these scales are perfect for that purpose. They are very industrial in design, and it would be nice to weigh myself when I work out. Secondly, I thought these scales would be great for my small dog. I like that the readout is separate from the scales themselves so that I can put my dog on the scale and read it separately. My dog weighs less than 13 lbs, so if you have a larger dog this scale system might not work as well for you. She fit very nicely on them. Read more

This scale is well made, and the accuracy is good (assessed by comparison with another scale I have which has been calibrated). Although the listing says this goes up to 440 pounds, documentation indicates it goes up to 550 pounds. While the weight capability is quite good, as is the accuracy, the precision is limited to about 0.2lb. That's no problem if you're weighing a person or some other large/heavy object. But it's probably not suitable for use as a shipping scale. So your use case will need to be compatible. This is definitely not suitable as a letter scale, or a scale for any other lighter items in the range of a few ounces. It can be powered by either 4x AA batteries (included) or else a USB cable (also included) which you plug into a charger (also included). The LCD is big and bright, although viewing angles are limited. You get buttons that control the (U)nits (pounds, pounds+oz, oz, kg), a "(H)old button to keep the weight after you take whatever you are measuring off the scale, and a (T)ear button to 0-out the scale reading. There is no way to recalibrate the scale as far as I could determine, you are at the mercy of the scale being properly calibrated at the factory--which seems to be the case here. In all, this is a good quality scale, as long as you don't expect to use this for lightweight items. Read more

This is a very sturdy, sleek scale that reminds me of the scale in my vet's office. It even has a kind of t-bone "tread" (actually, stamped white-enameled metal) that's cool. I've needed a scale to allow me to weigh various weights of dry goods for my long-term food storage so I'll know what size oxygen aborbers I need to include, and I also need to weigh low-weight items. This scale will handle anything from 0.5 lb. to 550 lb. (0.25 kg to 250 kg), at least according to the included informational sheet. (The Amazon product description says 440 lbs.) The visual monitor for the scale can be mounted at any desirable height, and it's got those screw-hole mounts so it's really easy to do. I used a few Gorilla hooks like you use for hanging pictures because I may wind up moving it later and didn't want to leave screw holes in the wall. The monitor swivels on the mount, so it's very, very easy to set this up. I'm very happy with it! It comes pre-calibrated, but if you find it starts being less accurate, you can recalibrate it. It runs either on batteries or a power supply, both of which are included. The scale will turn off automatically after five minutes if running on batteries, but you manually turn it off if it's hooked up to power. Read more

Great scale. It feels and looks to be of quality construction. I only use it for myself and my cats but in its limited use it works just fine. I checked it's accuracy with a few different free weights and it's dead-on. I like that the read-out panel is separate so it's easy to store when not in use. Good product. Read more
