I bought a new mattress and box spring. After doing some snazzy google research I guess I've been sleeping wrong for 20 years. I should have had a mattress protector, pad, etc. So I decided to adult and buy everything I need to get a good night's sleep. I did light browsing and stumbled accross this pad. It had good reviews and the square stitching was similar to the old mattress top I had. I figured it was worth the buy! My new mattress is a gel top and is flat so I wasn't sure if I'd adjust to it. When I first received it, the instructions said to let it out in the sun to fluff up. I did that but it didn't do much fluffing. 🤷‍♀️ Whatever. Throwing it on my bed. Once I had everything assembled with my new mattress like a power ranger super hero I did a deep dive into that bad boy. I could feel the stress melt away from my body. I like the square stitching because it did give me comfort of my old mattress top and gave a little extra support. Overall, you need to adult and buy a mattress pad because it helps. Lol. Read more

When i pulled it out of the box it looked very thin. I put it in the dryer with a tennis ball and it seemed to have fluffed up. I have a platform bed and the mattress is not soft enough for me and it bothers my hips, i was hoping this would relieve those pressure points,but it did not. It was time for a new mattress pad as my old one never fit well and reinstalling the mattress pad after washing was quite the chore. So much so that I went too long between washings to avoid the headache. I decided on the MEROUS queen-sized mattress pad as it seemed to have a generous sized skirt, which would hopefully take a little of the drudgery out of bedding maintenance. I made the purchase with realistic expectations, as I know no mattress pad is going to make a cheap hard mattress feel like an expensive pillow-topped mattress. To do so, a mattress pad would be crazy expensive and need to be so thick and heavy that it would be impossible to wash and dry. (If you have a hard uncomfortable bed consider getting a memory foam mattress topper that is at least 2” thick.) My new MEROUS mattress pad arrived in a rather small box, which made me a little nervous at first. However, the mattress was vacuum-sealed and triple bagged in plastic. When I opened the final bag the mattress pad expanded out like dough from a can of biscuits. The mattress pad did not have a strong chemical smell, but I ran it through an air-dry cycle in the dryer anyways. By this time the mattress pad had expanded so much that it filled my front-loader dryer completely. After a few minutes in the dryer I was able to easily install it on my queen mattress (with extra 2-inch foam pad) as the skirt on this mattress pad is very generous, stretching out easily up to over 24”. And, unlike my old mattress pad, the MEROUS mattress pad covers the top of my queen bed completely. The outer cover look nice and the stitching looks well done, and there is enough filling that the pad will provide a little more cushioning in addition to my memory mattress pad.
