Purchased this, and the black titanium coated version, they both arrived 23 days ago. Using these both and alternating between the two to pull 3-6 shots daily total I hadn’t noticed much of a difference. They feel nice not too heavy or light, fit in the portafilter well, clean up easily, and keep my head clean. All in all, works just fine. As of this morning, the screen is beginning to split from the other side as it’s just stuck together. This allows a bit of ground to make its way between the screen and holed part. Without damaging further, it is quite difficult to clean. Unfortunate, as I was a big fan of these to begin with. The titanium coated version has seen a bit more use, and seems to be holding up just fine. When in proper working order, they do a great job of keeping the head clean, and come out of the portafilter very easily. Perfect to use with my Breville barista express. The filter helps keep the head of the espresso machine clean while also evenly distributing the water that penetrates the coffee grounds. Great quality and a very competitive price! These are thinner but strong. Being thin allows you to use the screen without reducing your basket volume. The hole in the center is perfect for machines with an exposed screen screen, such as the La Marzoccos. The screen does seem to be a bit dirtier and the pucks a bit sticker than a much thicker and cheap screen. Read more

For the pure enthusiast of good espresso, puck screens are a must have. These particular screens come off as being of good quality and perfect filters for that intended purpose. Actually, any espresso puck will work but some are better than others. All have a definite learning curve or adaptability curve to tend with. With these screens you lessen that, to a point, and still achieve that espresso extraction you are craving. They fit most portafilter baskets with little 'escape' potential. Meaning when in use you achieve little "bleeding' from the edges. Which is a good thing. The width is ideal for everyday use and certainly enhances your experiences with extraction. Again, there is a learning curve, and you may have to adjust your grind(s) to get the 'correct' extraction. Something that is inherent with screens but worth the effort. You can certainly go with paper, but probably will not get the consistency you are seeking with reuseable metal ones. Final note? If you are in the market for getting the near perfect extraction, eliminate channeling, and increasing your love for espresso, then by all means look into these for your espresso collection. For a lot more you can get high-end screens that will do just about the same thing, but dollar for dollar, these won't disappoint. Good quality, good materials, and thus far produce desired espresso.
