Check With Your Dr. Before Use if You Are Immune Compromised
I was excited to receive and try this PIPM Microneedling Derma Pen and see what effects it would have on my skin. The device is lightweight and ergonomically designed, so that it feels comfortable to hold and use. I like that it comes with extra replacement cartridges- which should be enough for 3-4 months of treatments, depending on frequency of use. I chose not to use this product, after discussing it with my Dr. I'm on Immunosuppressant medication, and he strongly discouraged me from using it, because of the increased risk of bleeding and infection for people with compromised immune systems. The risk of scarring is higher in the immune compromised, as are the risks of complications if the device isn't properly cleaned, or the procedure isn't done correctly. Since I didn't try the product, I can't comment on its effectiveness, ease of use, whether it causes skin irritation, or the level of pain it causes. I will say that I've looked at many similar products before learning that I shouldn't use them, and I think this product gives good value for the money it you're able to use it. If you're immune compromised for any reason, I would suggest talking to your doctor before deciding whether microneedling is a good option for you. Read more
