While working on a fairly extensive drip irrigation project with 1/4 inch tubing, I already owned a corded 120V heat gun but dragging a long extension cord across my yard became very tedious. This 18V Milwaukee Heat Gun was a life changer dealing with dozens of 1/4 inch tubing connections. It heats up very quickly and within seconds I could soften the tubing enough to make the connections. I used a 5,0AH Milwauker 18V battery and even after making connections for over one hour, the battery indicator had three bars left. The tool is well balanced and not tiring to operate. Just be cautious when setting the tool down and resist the urge to hold it under your arm while working. That metal tip gets HOT. This Milwaukee 18V Heat Gun is a great addition to my growing Milwaukee arsenal and I highly recommend it without hesitation. Read more
This is a really great battery powered heat gun. I highly HIGHLY recommend to use the high output or Forge batteries with it as they cut the heating time down tremendously. Using a High Output 6.0 battery, the heat gun gets hot enough to shrink wire shrink-wraps in about 4 seconds. Using a non High Output battery, it takes around 17 seconds. That's a huge difference. This heat gun gets every bit as hot as my corded ones but I do not recommend using it without a high output battery. Highly recommended item- works really well. Read more
This heat gun is handy to have around, but I don’t feel that it gets hot enough. It also drains my 6 amp batteries pretty quickly. Overall, I am satisfied with its performance. Read more

Mainly the only thing I use this for is shrink wrap on wire, or shrink connectors. Works ok for the couple I do. I wouldn’t recommend if intend to use it regularly. You do have to go right ontop of what you’re heating. Also forget it if it’s windy. Does drain batteries. My cheap electric 120v one does work much better. But if I need it out in the driveway I will grab this one. Although lighters do work better I prefer to use this. On the fence about it. Read more
