A Set of Two Modern Lantern Light for Your Front Door or Garage

This is a set of two modern outdoor lanterns for the exterior of your home. They are waterproof sconces for patio and wall mount lighting. You could use them for your front door, placing one on each side. You could also use them for your garage, one on either side of your garage doors, a beautiful set of two clear glass. Those are the two places I would use these outdoor wall lantern sconces. These lights offer a high level of functionality and good value for the money. And the only problem clear glass creates is that you have to be careful about the lights that you use, light bulbs, I should say cause they’re clear glass panels, you want to make certain that you use what I call Edison light bulbs. They’re clear glass with LED filaments that emulate filament in a fixture like this. You can get two 40 W lightbulbs that would give a tremendous amount of light These slides are designed for all-weather construction and are waterproof. The interiors of these lights are gold-toned to reflect light perfectly. I would recommend getting lights at 3000° Kelvin to enhance the warm glow of the gold interior. These lights are easily installed if you have an existing outdoor waterproof US standard junction box the only difference between a US standard junction box it’s waterproof and one that’s not is that it has rubber fittings around both the lid and the top of the junction box and the sides are sealed so the snow air award they can get in since this is a waterproof fixture it undoubtedly has a installation bracket or desk or in the case of a heavy fixture like this usually it’s the entire back of the fixture which is secure usually by a number of screws When you open the box, you’ll see that the installation disc is attached to the fixture with two decorative nuts at the front. Remove the decorative nuts and place them in a safe place, as it is difficult to replace. Before doing anything with an electrical product installation, do the following first. Endeavor to locate the circuit breaker control panel box in your home. In most homes, the circuit breaker control panel is located in the basement. In some homes, the circuit breaker of control panel boxes is located in the garage, particularly if you do not have a basement. Once you’ve located the circuit breaker control panel, you should ascertain which circuit breaker controls the power to the two junction boxes you’ll be working on today to install these two beautiful outdoor lantern-like lighting fixtures. Once you believe you’ve turned off the correct circuit breaker, go to the two previously installed junction boxes and verify that the power is off in them using a voltage meter or electrical testing device. The type of electrical testing device I prefer is an electronic device you turn on by pressing a button on top. It looks like a pen. You put the point of the pen near the wire, and it will start chirping like a bird and flashing if the wire is still energized. The higher the voltage, the louder the chirps, and the brighter and quicker the lights flash. A little device like this can save your life. Now that you’ve determined the wires are safe to handle, take the installation disc. There are two screws on it that connect directly to the fixture. Make certain they're in place and fully screwed in. Next, pass the wires through the center hall in the insulation desk that would be the wires coming from the fixture. Make sure that all the wires, both the wires from the house service side and the fixture service side, have had the last half centimeter of insulation removed from the tips of the wires. Place the tip of the black wire adjacent to the tip of the black wire from the House service sod place the wire lock nut over the two tips and turn it clockwise until a mechanical and electrical connection has been established. Do the same thing with the white wire and the same thing with the green wire, which may be connecting to a bear or a couple of wires coming from the fixture Next, push all the wires and lock nuts into the junction box, and use the two number eight machine screws included in your install package to fully tighten the installed plate into the US standard junction box. Next, place the back of the fixture over the two protruding screws on the install plate, then replace the decorative nuts. Make certain that the fixture is level if it is not level, some adjustment may be necessary at this point to the install plate or to the junction box to make certain that it is level. Install and connect the fixture to the install plate. The back of the fixture is larger than the install plate, and should extend over the wall or the side of the house. At this point, I recommend adding a bead of silicone around the entire fixture to ensure a proper seal and prevent leaks. Do not get into the electrical connections. Next, turn on the circuit breaker and the power at the local power switch, turning your light on. Do the same for the other light, if it’s not on a different circuit from this one. You have now installed the light bulbs and ensured that the lights work correctly. Read more

Really first class....

This is a very high end set of coach lights--designed to be installed on the outside of your home or building. They are decorative, well made (exceptionally so) and easy to install. Unlike many exterior fixtures, these are heavily built with solid metal frames and tempered glass--well worth the slightly premium cost for the set of two. A decorative gold band accents the glass box and is understated and attractive. The units are NOT supplied with bulbs. They require two E12 style base bulbs for each fixture and a decorative gold sleeve is provided to hide the socket the bulb is screwed in to. The E12 base is typically called a 'candelabra' style bulb and is usually designed to look like a flame--they are widely available but I do wish the seller had included a set to avoid having to run out to purchase them. These are mounted to the wall as are most exterior coach lights by attaching them to the electrical box inside using the mounting plate and screws provided with the fixture. Aside from the especially heavy weight of this well made lamp, the installation is straightforward and can be done easily--especially with a helper. The bottom of the fixture is wisely left open and though I have heard complaints about this style of design, I think it is better than an enclosed box. You are able to access the inside of the lamp easily--to change a bulb, clean the glass or remove a dead insect. Closed fixtures often allow entry to insects anyway and then they collect on the bottom until you get disgusted. Read more

Classy fixtures

These wall lights are massive! Love the two-toned gold and black frame. They present a very clean look. They do have a bit of weight to them, as they are so big. I am having 2nd thoughts about putting them on my garage due to the cheap mounting boxes I have there. Perhaps it would be best if I upgrade those as I upgrade these lights. That being said, they are an easy install (few hots and a ground). I think they look fantastic. Very classy and timeless. The 2 bulb sockets will surely be adequate for most lighting needs. One thing I will say is that the price is quite low. I have reviewed my fair share of these outdoor sconces and these definitely make my top 5. A quality outdoor sconce. Great look, great vibes. Would recommend. 5/5 Read more
