After a couple months testing this product I can say that it works perfectly. It was delivered into a well protected enclosure with shock absorbers, this product was sent overseas without any change to it's original packaging. After installation (just as any normal hard drive on a laptop) there hasn't been any problems, reboots, blue/black screens, it's a really quite drive and hardly makes any sound. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a replacement for an old hard drive on an old laptop (which is what I did). Read more

I received the Toshiba branded drive. I am using it at a recording drive for my Raspberry Pi2. Fast enough to record 7 simultaneous channels at a time and watch another recording at the same time without hickup! Read more

My partner has had his PS3 for years. A few months ago, it stopped working. We would try to turn it on, but that familiar whirring noise didn't happen. The hard drive was dead. I logged on to Amazon, ordered this replacement and had it in two days. Popped it in, and the machine worked like new. Of course we lost our saved games, but life goes on. installed and loaded o/s no issues. smooth and quiet operation, best deal i could find and I scoured the web.maybe you will have better deal some where else but I doubt it. I feel confident when buying from Amazon, the merchants bend over back wards to make you happy. this is a small hdd by todays standards but if you don't store a ton of movies or save every video you have ever seen then this is plenty big enough. One up side it doesn't take for ever to scan for viruses or search. Read more

Some reviewers say they have experienced problems with this drive, but the one I purchased has worked great over the last 2 years. The drive was professionally packaged and easy to install (I do have experience with computer hardware). So far there have been no issues with this drive. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again. The hard drive went out on an old dell laptop that I use. I considered replacing the whole thing, but I thought that would be wasteful. This has it back up and running with more storage and seems faster. I run Ubuntu OS so the install went smooth. I would definitely recommend. Read more
