This is such a great hitch carrier! We went with the XXL and it is the actual largest one we have ever seen. It comes with an incredibly thick waterproof bag and is well made. We have found that 6 stacked 116quart storage containers fit perfectly inside the huge bag with plenty of room to fit other items as well. The problem with these bags is it’s hard to fill them up and they look like a big lump when strapped down. The stacked storage bins fill it up nicely and help it hold its shape. We had a small issue with the plug wire rubbing on the hitch tube when folded into the upright position. We saw that sometimes this happens and that the company will send a replacement part which. WHICH THEY DID!! It turns out the company is based in the US (NY) and has an incredible support team. They immediately sent out the updated part and it arrived within a day or two. It’s always nice to deal with a family run business and especially when they have such great exceptional customer service. Can not recommend enough. See pic for diagram of the replacement part. Very pleased with the product. Customer support from Mockins is exceptional. The hitch receiver end that came with the XXL Cargo Carrier was straight which caused the carrier to sag under load. This component also had the potential to pinch the tail light wiring on this model when folded in the upright position. The replacement part addressed both issues as it had an upward curvature to allow the carrier to level out under a cargo load and also eliminated the threat of pinched wires. The only other concern is that the tail light mounting relies on a rubber gasket with little retaining nodes that may not hold up on a bumpy surface or if the load shifts against the back side of them and the tail light pops out onto the road. Hoping the manufacturer will come up with a more rigid mount for the tail light. Overall it’s a really nice system and is bigger than any competing product I could locate in the price range. After getting our e-bikes, wanted to get a cargo carrier since we have a lifted truck and e-bikes are just under 100 pounds each...hard to lift and put on the bed of the truck to take to greenway. However, in looking at e-bike carriers, they were expensive and only useful for bikes. So then started looking at cargo hitch carriers knowing we could use it for other things. This one is huge and great with a high weight capacity (500 pounds). The carrier is great - the cover seems to be very handy... NOTE: the only complaint we have read, is that the nuts and bolts that come with this carrier are cheap - this is dangerous!!! since these carriers move and raddle down the road. I reached out to the company about this concern and they suggested for us to get stronger bults. So when to Ace and got the strongest nuts and bults there are (spent another 100 dollars) but well worth for a safe trip and peace of mind. I guess the company to keep the cost down to consumers only offer the cheaper bults - but the carrier is very strong! I do recommend this product - but only if you spend the extra to get the better stronger bults. Read more

Many people have commented on the bolts snapping. When I first installed my unit, I noted it was sagged as soon as loaded some weight. I added a shim where the basket folds down to raise/level the basket out and noted that I was able to slide the bolts/pins out much more easily. Thus, I believe the bolts are not there to actually support weight but instead keep the basket from raising up. Either way, just for safety I did upgrade the hardware to Grade 8 pins. With those fixes, the basket survived a 4900 mile road trip through some VERY rough roads in northern Mexico. I have only positive things to say about the vinyl luggage bag. It literally doubles the amount you can bring and worked flawlessly during muddy roads and rain. Heavy duty vinyl. Its somewhat heavy and difficult to fold it to fit in its little bag, but ill gladly take heavy duty vinyl any day. In short, its a great unit if you are willing to shim and upgrade the bolts. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I purchased this cargo rack in preparation for a drive to Alaska as the storage space in my camper is limited and I wanted to 500 pound carrying capacity that they offer. The rack is sturdy and easy to put together. However it wasn’t tough enough for the ALCAN highway. I has four bulky Rubbermaid totes, a keens wagon, my wife’s wheelchair and some dirty clothes packed into the waterproof bag all of which was less than 250 pounds. During the drive the shaft that fits into the receiver on my camper bent and eventually the end of the rack was about 8 inches off the ground. Every rack I have seen on the drive to Alaska ends up drooping some bit the way the metal bent on this into was excessive. While I’m still happy with the unit and especially the waterproof cargo bag, I’ll say that they didn’t make this tough enough to make it to Alaska. Read more

I looked up a video on how to assemble it and it was pretty easy, I think it’s awesome it comes with lights and a plate holder I got this product especially for my snow dog/track sled now I’m ready for the ice fishing season, I will say if you put a ramp on one side and try driving anything on top of it, the whole carrier wants to bend sideways, if you put something right to the middle it seems to do just fine. Soon going to Wisconsin and I purchased this one because it was the biggest one the most storage capacity and a waterproof bag can’t wait to use it! And very easy to put together just read the instructions first now I need a new cap in the back where the wire is . Also very sturdy all bolts got tight and I also like the piece to keep it from wobbling I think it will work great Read more
