Moen Gibson Chrome One-Handle Single Hole Modern Bathroom Sink Faucet with Optional Deckplate 6145

This was one of the few faucets that met my needs with style and smaller sink. I was looking for a longer spout depth to reach over properly with the sink I was installing onto (Ikea sink), tall since the sink was shallow, single handle, standard stream and matte black. I first got the Moen Genta which came in about $100 (almost half the price of this), but it had a laminar stream which actually caused a lot of splash in the flat bottom sink I have. Even though the Genta didn't work well for my needs, I did l did like the built-in hose set up and lengths on Moen's, so I went with this Gibson. Pros: - Long spout to extend over sink - Single handle that requires minimum space for operation - Tall faucet, which works nice for shallow sinks - Long built-in hoses - no concern with reach - Fits single hole or 3- hole w plate - Stylish with matte black finish - Comes with pop-up drain assembly - Good stream flow and pressure Cons - Price: this was almost twice as much as similar models and some of the competitors - The pop-up drain assembly socket washer was difficult to distinguish proper direction and had a small leak (I possibly installed it backwards at one point and may have damaged it). I got another washer at a local hardware store to put in the screw cap on the outer face of the socket ball and it has worked fine since. Read more

I purchased these 2 bathroom faucets to replace a set of Ikea ones in which one had sprung a leak. I looked all over (Home Depot/Lowes) and could not find a QUALITY replacement that was budget friendly. I was not interested in Glacier Bay or other products with plastic parts because I didn't want the same problem. These are really solid, look great and took about 1.5 hours to install with a professional. I do want to let buyers know that the drain assembly portion that connects the stopper is on a flexible piece of metal which probably allows it to conform to different bowls but does make closing the drain different than a straight piece of metal pull (there is more play) Either way, looks great and not a huge deal as I don't fill the bowls regularly anyhow. This is a nicely made faucet with quality parts and refined, minimalistic design. Much better than big box store offerings. Some have claimed in reviews that this faucet is gargantuan, and there are even reports of it being 11" tall: this is not true. The faucet is 8" tall from the bottom of the escutcheon to the top of the handle, modest in size and well proportioned. If you take your time and read the instructions and have a little experience, this is an easy faucet to install and a fine quality fixture at a reasonable price. I searched for just the right faucets for our bathroom remodel. I wanted sleek/simplistic and modern, but not “weird-modern”. We went with all chrome fixtures in the bathroom, and I was nervous about fingerprints and that they would always look dirty. But I haven’t experienced anything at all like that in the two weeks we’ve used them. They work incredibly well, the design is smart and gets the water exactly where you’d want it and nowhere else! I can’t speak to the matching drains that came with, because our new vanity also came with pop up drains, so we went with those for now.
