I did a TON of research online via Reddit, Google, and multiple other sources, and found that these were the perfect fit for my son as a starter chef set. He has worked in a kitchen for a couple of years now and was super impressed with the quality of the steel in these knifes. They cut perfectly; they are weighted nicely (which allows him to practice and learn the functionality of each individual knife).
