I want to start by saying that I am 42 years old and have ADHD. I have been biting my nails for over 36 years due to boredom and maybe nerves. It’s led to chipped teeth, germs in my mouth, and probably 100 other things I don't want to consider. I was such a nail-biter that I would bite my fingernails painted with similar polishes. They didn't work. But you know what has worked? THIS POLISH. The taste is so gross that just thinking about it has stopped me from biting my nails. The polish must have some nutrients that help your nails grow because my nails have also grown stronger and thicker. This polish also stays on for over a week, and I don't have to repaint it every day like similar ones I've tried. I honestly never believed I would be able to stop biting my nails and cuticles. With this polish, however, it's been a month since I last bit them. Works great, and lasts a Long time! My daughter had been biting her nails for months, so she and I both painted our nails with this polish. It taste SO bad when you pick up food to put in your mouth - she absolutely stopped putting her hands in her mouth. Even with frequent and thorough handwashing the taste lingered for 2-3 weeks it seemed. At that point she did start biting again, but this worked so well we had sent it with my son to use with friends as a gag, so I tried another brand of paint on polish I bought for the same purpose on Amazon at the same time. It didn’t work as well at all. I caught her biting her nails the very next day. I’ll be getting this polish back from my soon ASAP. I never wished I didnt have a tongue until I tried this product. It sticks to your tongue and your lips, and it doesn't really hit you until a few seconds later and it doesn't want to leave. I didn't read the reviews before I bought it, and I expected to be like a clove oil. NOPE! The taste is SOOO bitter and I never realized how often I touched my mouth until now. This is really good and it will get you to stop biting your nails, however if you accidentally do bite your nails, the taste of this polish will stay in your mouth for hours and it will sometimes get on things you’re trying to eat if you have it on your fingers. Read more

A bitter taste that lasts for a couple of minutes if you put your fingers in your mouth. Downside is that you will also taste it on any finger foods you’re eating (for a few days after application, too). I wouldn’t mind so much, but unfortunately didn’t break the habit!
