Natural Peppermint Essential Oil Infused Vegan Plant-Based Waxed Dental Floss 38 Yards 35 Meters in Refillable Glass Jar

After opening the package to see that the box was not sealed properly, told me how things were going to go. Packaging aside, the glass bottle is great for refilling floss. I have two of these already. One for home and one for travel. I wanted one to keep at my desk in the office. While I can use my other floss, to fill the dispenser, this floss is trash. I understand it’s supposed to be biodegradable, but it should at least perform its basic duty. I did a pull test, and you can see by the image that it didn’t perform well at all. It doesn’t feel soft or pleasant to the touch, it mimics sewing thread. It also doesn’t glide, nor feel good between the teeth. I didn’t even try to sweep this in my gum area because it’s too rough. I hate to waste and throw the floss away, but I would be concerned about it breaking in between my teeth. I floss daily and cannot imagine using this at all. This only gets two stars for the idea and the glass container with metal lid. The floss did not work for me at all. I floss daily, and usually use a standard floss that never breaks on my teeth. I love the idea that this is biodegradable, but this floss immediately broke between two molars. Not only did this low-quality floss immediately break, but a small piece of it got stuck between those teeth. I had to use regular floss to get it out. I will say that the glass vial holding the floss does well, and it is easy to pull out more floss and break it off on the little notch in the lid. It stays in place and unrolls evenly. That's nice, but worthless if I can't use the floss at all. I also did not notice any smell or taste of peppermint. This is a great idea, but very poorly executed. The description says "Peppermint infused", but I don't sense any scent at all. I even took the lid off and tried to smell the entire roll as I assumed that would be a more concentrated scent. But I didn't smell anything. The description also says "waxed". It's possible there is some wax, but I don't feel any and it doesn't seem to act like it's waxed. I would think that waxed floss would resist water. This floss quickly absorbs water To me, and my senses, this smells like, and feels like, just plain floss. Having said that, it does feel like very sturdy floss. I have a few rough areas that tend to shred other floss. This floss is fairly thin and wasn't shredded by those rough areas. Read more

I need to say up front that I'm picky with my floss. It's not because I want to be, but because most floss shreds so easily on my teeth. I have a couple of really tight transitions between teeth that are brutal on floss and shred or break all but a couple of brands. Unfortunately, this floss fell into the the category of floss that does shred. Part of the issue seems to be the wax. it did not feel waxy at all to me. So it just didn't seem to slide like I need it to. For most people, if they can use most brands of floss, I'm confident that they will be able to use this and make this system work. I did like the smell and taste. It was not overly minty like the brand I typically use. Overall, I really to feel like this is a good product option for most people, but if you're like me and have to be picky with your floss, this might not work or be a good option. Read more

I like the way this is presented in the cute clear container, but unfortunately the floss itself is low quality. It is thinner than most other brands I’ve used. My initial thought was it’s reminds of kite string. Every time I try to use it, it starts fraying and breaks apart at around the third or fourth pass between teeth. It took around a dozen separate pieces to get through all my teeth. Also, the majority of times that it broke, I ended up having some bits of floss stuck in between my teeth and need to go back over the areas again to get it out. I really wanted to love the YouClean Natural Dental Floss because the concept is neat (but not new or groundbreaking). The glass jar, refillable design, and plastic‑free materials are exactly the kind of sustainable products I try to support. It’s nice to see a brand focusing on eco‑friendly dental care and reducing waste. Unfortunately, the floss itself just doesn’t perform well if your teeth don’t have much space between them. I have tighter contacts, and this floss tears easily, shreds on resistance, and often breaks before I can get it between my teeth. That makes it pretty much unusable for me, and ironically, it ends up creating more waste despite the responsible packaging. If you have wider gaps or teeth with more room, this floss will probably work just fine and you’ll get the benefit of a natural, sustainable option. But for anyone with tighter spacing, it’s not reliable enough to recommend. Read more
