I originally bought these in the summer to hike in. They are great hiking shorts, just thick enough and just tight enough for adequate coverage and a little compression, test flexible enough for freedom of movement climbing hills and climbing over rocks and downed trees. I hikes I can wear them as shorts, but they’re as comfortable as wearing nothing but boxer briefs, nice and cool and relaxed yet plenty of support for my legs and hips. In cooler weather I find them great to wear under as underwear on walks, they help keep me warm on cooler evenings. They’re also great to wear around the house, the pocket keeps my phone handy. I have very muscular thighs from playing many years of soccer so I need running compression shorts to avoid thigh chaffing while running. My current running compression shorts are from Asics and Nike. Those brands have very limited selection of colors (all black mostly) so I wanted to try alternatives. I have only used my recently purchased Neleus about three times on short 5k runs. The first thing I noticed is that the material is thinner than Asics and Nike. The material is much softer so if you want a more compression fit you will need to go down a size. I wear large for all other brands and I bought large for Neleus as well. They fit good but are not real tight compression shorts. I don't need them to be very compressed so they work well for me for running. I like the variety of colors, the side pocket, and the knob on the drawstring that prevents the drawstring from getting pulled into the waist and having to fish it back out. Overall good shorts and I will buy more if the current three I purchased last a decent amount of time. Read more

Not as form fitting as I’d like and returned the XL, which was really baggy, for the M;, which still feels loose, so not true to the size chart. The iPhone giggles around in the pocket but holds well enough while running. The elastic on the waistline is good so you don’t really need the drawstrings other that to leave out so people don’t thing your running in your underwear as there is no privacy patch. They are comfortable to wear working out and for runs; maybe I just prefer the compression of a solid tri-suit (eg Synergy). I’m 6’2”, 195lbs. Read more
