Great for canning and works well. No complaints. First time pressure canner here and was very intimidated with the process but this canner is simple to learn and I use it weekly. You can water bath or pressure can. For quart jars, low pressure to water bath since you can't fill water over the jars. Prefect seals! Read more

I have had this canner in my cart for two years, and finally bought it on clearance and I LOVE it! I grew up in the 60's and my mom used her pressure canner a few times a month. I "hated" those days as she had instilled in my siblings and I a fear that if we weren't very careful when walking through the kitchen it would explode, causing great harm...or death. ( I may be exaggerating the death remark, but honestly not sure). She was not a canner, but would cook roasts and other meals in it. I started canning shortly after we were married with a water bath canner. Eventually I wanted to do beans which said they needed to be pressure canned, so I bought one. The childlike fear had not disappeared when I would hear the weight jiggling, so my husband would do that canning. My microwave is above my stove so it can't be used while using the pressure canner. Also, I am short, 5'3", so it was hard, and heavy for me to lift or fill the canner. Also the lid was very heavy. I had read many reviews on the different brands of electric pressure canners, as well as watched numerous videos. This canner was given the best reviews, so I took the plunge, and am so happy! The picture above is my first time canning meat. It was so easy, and delicious! I have bought canned chicken in the past for recipes which has worked out fine. However, when I opened a jar of the chicken I canned, the wonderful smell and delicious looking made me reach in the jar to taste it. It was unbelievable! It tasted like it had been freshly roasted. I have never had the desire to eat any of the canned chicken I used to buy before it was incorporated into a recipe. This unit can be used as a pressure canner, water bath canner, crockpot (has a removal liner), or warmer. It is digital, and has easy to read and understand directions. Because it is smaller, only 5 pints or quarts can be done at a time. I will still use my larger canner for large batches, but this is perfect for smaller batches. I can can one or two jars easily without all the heavy set up time. Also, canning on a hot day will be so much nicer as I won't have the boiling water heating up my kitchen! Read more

Small household here. I have the standard pressure canner, water bath canner and even a steam canner. Husband bought this for me as I would love to continue canning through the summer, but was going to do a semi-enclosed outdoor kitchen to keep the heat out of mine. It's been said that electric pressure cookers aren't safe for canning, even though they're advertised as being able to do so. With this in mind, I've never attempted to can in my beloved Insta... I did, however, start researching and found this item.. and was thrilled that it was an electric CANNER and not a COOKER (even though you COULD pressure cook in it if you want to --- I will only use it for canning). The directions for use are simple and straightforward, it comes with everything you need to get started. You can either pressure can or waterbath can in this. I tested it with strawberry jam and was totally pleased with the outcome. It's the perfect size and much lighter than trying to empty a standard water bath canner. I love that I get to can year round without heating my kitchen up in the summer! Very satisfied with this item and would definitely recommend it. Read more

I was given one of these for a Christmas gift and liked it so much I ordered another here on Amazon! This pressure canner/water bath canner is the best!!! It is so easy to use!! And it does BOTH pressure can and waterbath!!! The design is sleek and very nice looking, too! I'm a beginner and this just works so smooth and easy!! The instructions are clear and give plenty of room for your imagination on what to can as long as you follow the canning instructions. It is easy to clean, with the removable 'canning pot' and the lid and seal come off easily to clean and go back on easily. It comes with 2 jigglers and both racks. The 'beep' is loud enough to hear if I am in another room so I can keep track of what I need to do on moving the jiggler. They do 6 regular pints at a time, 7 on some pint jars, less on wide mouth jars or 4 qts, which is fine for me, doing a little at a time. I just can't say enough good things about this electric canner! I was afraid to use a stove top pressure canner because of the horror stories I heard! Using this one is a breeze! I would heartily recommend and encourage you to try if you already can or are looking to do your own as a beginner. I guarantee you will be hooked on it as I am!! Read more

This is so much easier to use than a traditional pressure canner! It’s a big timesaver & takes away the need to constantly check the venting & watch the rattler. There is a small 30 minute window in which you have to wait for the alarm (a very loud beep) to go off. Then you have to manually switch the dial from vent to closed. Other than that, it’s all automated- including turning itself off when cycle is complete. My only complaint is the size. It only accommodates 4 wide mouth quarts or 5 pints. (Pints must also be wide mouth if using the water bath feature.) One could technically fit 6 regular mouth ball pints in the canner, but they are so tight, I was afraid they’d break. I don’t understand why the manufacturer didn’t just increase the width slightly to accommodate six. Also, if it was slightly taller, one would be able to use regular mouth quarts. Other than that, it’s definitely worth the purchase. Just make sure you’re ready to invest in wide mouths which tend to be a little more expensive. Read more
