Got this for my husband, only coffee drinker in the family. Downside is the pods are expensive but the machine is much quieter than the previous espresso pod machine we had. The machine's unique tech(spinning the pod rapidly) really seems to pull the flavor. You can also double the strength by tapping the button twice until it turns blue. So the flavor/consistency is really great--somewhere between an expensive espresso machine and an aero press. Plus a delightful foam on top. You can also make your own custom blends and re use the pods indefinitely. It's taken a little time, but I'm totally hooked on the little wonder. Decided to buy this for our office 6 mos ago as we have used & loved our machine at home for more than a decade. This handsome blue machine does NOT have a quality feel to it. It feels cheap, placing the pod and closing the machine is horrifyingly bad as it sounds and feels like the "twist" is going to bust the whole mechanism off. The brewing sound is a loud and un-appealing sound that is markedly different than the smooth jet-like sounds of our home unit! Most troubling though - the famous layer of 'foam' comes out somehow burnt or curdled! It is very off-putting as that high pressure brew is one of the best attributes to the brand. Texture - Fail. Coffee appearance - Fail. Taste - Fail. This machine is barely usable and we rarely use the machine. In fact, I brought 3 sleeves of coffee back to the house Friday so they don't become stale.
