I am very happy with this pan. It feels sturdy, well made, and looks nice as well. The nonstick properties of the pan work great, and has made for easy cleaning. I also really appreciate that it comes with a lid as it gives me more cooking options when using it. Read more

I was looking into buying a new pan, something different than the cuisinart and calphalon pans I have had in the past. My calphalon pan’s nonstick surface was starting to get worn and this pan caught my eye. It’s hard to tell what the longevity will be like when you pull a pan right out of the box, and I really wanted to use the pan a handful of times before I wrote a review. The pan has good weight to it, very comparable to the calphalon and cuisinart. I do have to say that the design is very visually appealing and I really like how the furano logo is placed on the handle. It appears that a single non stick pan is the only product I could find, but I’m really curious to see if they’ll post a full set in the future. After using a handful of times I do feel this deserves five stars. I do recommend this product, the surface is clean and the non stick material is just what I was looking for. Read more

The FURANO 10 inch Ceramic Stainless Steel Frying Pan is an excellent nonstick pan. It's extremely well-made,: flat (a consideration for glass top and induction stoves), rounded edges on the handle, unmarred stainless steel exterior, and an unusual stainless steel/ceramic interior. The glass and stainless steel lid has a steam vent and sits perfectly on the pan. The pan comes in an attractive, simple cardboard box, with just a little plastic and mostly cardboard to protect it. It's elegant enough to give as a gift. Ceramic nonstick pans are a more recent option the traditional Teflon lined pans and are safer for health and for the environment. Not perfect, but much better. Especially if they say they are PFAS, PFOA free and free of heavy metals (cadmium and lead, for two). This pan says it is free of these chemicals and metals, so that's definitely a positive. Traditional , older nonstick pans are made with PFAs (forever chemicals) which are toxic and, although most sites say the newer coatings are safer to use in terms of personal health, but they also say that they still generally use PFAS chemicals during production of the Teflon-type coatings. Some of these chemicals have been found even in the newest Teflon-type coatings, so I stay away from them. And they give off toxic fumes if heated on high heat; ceramic coatings don't do that. I've been using the Furano pan for a week or so, quite consistently, and it's a pleasure to use and clean. I use a gentle pad to clean it with soap and water, by hand; never in the dishwasher. I'm also very careful to only use silicone or wood utensils with it, as any metal utensils can scratch it (or any other nonstick pan), ruining the coating. It's also advised to use it at low or medium heat, and I've done that. The glass lid helps keep the heat in and reduces liquid evaporation, and the steam vent helps prevent splatter. Some steam does escape, so you do need to keep an eye on the level of liquid in the pan so things don't dry out or burn. So far, food like eggs and other things that tend to stick just slide out, so fried eggs, for example, come out perfectly shaped, not mangled the way they do in my usual stainless steel pan. I won't use this for any high-heat cooking, like searing, but I love that I can use just a tiny bit of oil and things sauté perfectly. Breaded fish comes out of the pan in one piece, which is a deal-maker for me! The pan is slightly heavy but not too heavy and the rounded edges on the handle make it easy to hold and comfortable. I use a heat-proof mitt because the handles of the pan and lid are not heat-proof, but that's fine. This is an excellent nonstick pan. With gentle care it should last long enough to make it a good value. Read more

So most have heard or seen the big brand cookware company that came out with this style of pan. I big time chef even said he liked them though he did not endorse them. This has a different pattern on the inside but the concept is the exact same. I actually have a couple of the other brand and do enjoy them very much so I was excited to test this against them. First price wise they are about the same, with in I would say 10 dollars of each other for the same size and with a lid. So even there. Quality and construction both are again at the top of their game. Heating evenly and non stick ability really can't tell a part. I guess I should just skip the rest and wrap it up like this, they are the same, yes there is slight differences in each but it is all things that dont matter to me or affect the cooking and cleaning of the pan. This is a fantastic pan that you can do anything to, use metal utensils, dishwasher safe, has a lid, can use it as a hammer to drive nails in walls, Im just kidding on the last thing but you probably could but it would mess up you pan. Anyways this is a great pan and you don't have to buy a set and it comes with the lid. The reason for the one missing star is because I figured if you are not the first to make something and you are not really improving the thing then you should be cheaper and since this pan really is not that much cheaper it lost one star, closer to just half a star as I really do like this pan.
