These are awesome for adding moisture in our house! They are a perfect fit on top of our Jotul Castine F400. They each hold just a smidge under a half gallon of water! They might be good for cake pans too! The best thing about them is the fact that the manufacturer has made them with perfectly FLAT bottoms. Read more
Nordic Ware has produced an excellent product combination in its "Naturals 8-Inch Round Cake Pan". It certainly meets my baking needs. This pan is an uncoated, aluminum pan. Traditional baking pans, without a nonstick surface, are difficult to find in reasonably priced baking pans - Nordic Ware has met this need. I also prefer that baking pans that are made in the USA - another big plus for this pan. The 3-inch deep pan is a nice, medium weight product. Unlike many baking pans on the market today, it does not require one to be a weight-lifter to move the pan when empty or when containing a food product. I have found that cake layers bake evenly in this pan. I do line my baking pan with parchment paper, so I have had no issues with having difficulty in removing baked on foods from the pan. I particularly like that the pan is seamless. Because I do not run cold water in my baking pans when they are hot, I have not had any issues with the pans warping. If you are looking for seamless, medium-weight, made-in-the USA pans, you will definitely want to consider this Nordic Ware "Naturals 8-Inch Round Cake Pan". I’ve got a lot of Nordic Ware products. Starting to get more into baking my own stuff and I’m a huge fan of uncoated aluminum. These pans just last! My ONLY gripe is these 9” round pans don’t nest. Otherwise 5+ stars!! Read more
I am naturally skeptical of well, pretty much everything at this point & these 8" pans were no different. :) I mean, come on .. a pan is a pan. But then the wee devils went on sale - so I took the bait. Used them to make a cake last night & to misquote our good friend Neil Diamond, "Then I saw my cake...now I'm a believer."
