Future proof your smart home with this dual band outlet. Most of my smart devices are on the 2.4 GHz band but I did test this, and it paired up very quickly to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi. The functionality is the same either way. Using the Smart Life app the switching was nearly instantaneous. In my home automation system, it's slightly more sluggish but very reasonable. The design is typical and is used in many other brands also. It does not block the secondary outlet on a duplex from being utilized. I did have one issue with the smart life app not being able to show me the voltage watts and power but the off and on still functioned. I was able to resolve this issue by re-pairing the device. Even when this happened my home automation system was still able to access all the information. It's my second Nous brand and I’ve had no other issues with them. Read more

This is a great smart plug. Easy to setup and use. I would highly recommend this product. Having both 2.4 and 5 g. Is excellent. Read more
I ordered this smart plug to make mornings easier. I’ve been using this smart plug to control my coffee pot through Alexa so I can start it from bed or set a morning routine. The plug has a compact body with a smooth finish, and it fit into a tight outlet without blocking anything nearby. Pairing it to Wi-Fi and Alexa was a bit of a pain and took some time, but it works every day now. The manual button has a firm click, and the outlet stayed cool while the pot heated. Energy monitoring in the app showed steady readings once the brew cycle started, which helped me see how much power the pot actually pulls (not much). I like how quickly Alexa responds through this plug, though the energy chart refresh is a little slow. The reliable connection and consistent performance support a strong overall evaluation. Really helped make mornings easier. (Review is for NOUS Wi-Fi Smart Plug 15A, Dual-Band 2.4GHz & 5GHz, Energy Monitoring) Read more
This smart plug was incredibly simple to set up—even without Alexa. I just used the Nous app, connected it to Wi-Fi, and it was ready to go in minutes. It responds quickly, fits neatly without blocking nearby outlets, and has been working flawlessly since installation. The energy monitoring is a nice bonus, and it’s great to see dual-band (2.4 & 5GHz) support in a budget-friendly device. Read more
I was looking for a simple way to control an out of reach fan that doesn't have a switch. Adding simple voice commands or an app button makes sense for such a thing. I searched and found this one claiming it works with Siri Shortcuts AND it's 2.4 and 5Ghz compatible- saving me the gamble of something else requiring network reconfigurations (my mesh routers work, but their software is no longer supported). I'm almost positive I could get another smart outlet to work, but this looked ready to go out of the box without as much potential hassle since it advertised all the compatibility I was looking for. It's a bit pricier than the competition with the same specs. The 2.4Ghz only options are like $5 each, but searching a bit more I saw there are ones that support 5Ghz for under $12, or you can buy a 4-pack for $45.99 with pictures of an app that looks just like this one, and that one also offers 20%off as of the time of this review... bringing them down to about $9 and change... So if I had to do it over and spotted those, I'd probably go that route and risk it- the alternative I found doesn't specifically say Siri compatible but shows compatibility with apps that are, so another option would likely work just as well. I may try those for out of reach fans in my workshop, and if I do, I'll report back. The link to the manual for this is bad- it goes to a one page pdf that says "reserw" at the top, so I'm taking off a star. Maybe they'll fix it... That said, it's easy enough to fumble your way through setting it up to either push the button in the app (super easy once paired- and it walks you through that process), or to add a "scene" to tell it to turn the switch on, off, or "reverse" it, which means to toggle it from whatever setting it is on. I created 3 such shortcuts linked to Siri voice commands and created a toggle command I added to my pull down menu as a shortcut button. Overall, it works great, and if you don't mind paying a bit more than the competition, it's an ok deal for convenience and peace of mind. The interface is decent and easy enough to figure out and shows your daily power consumption from the outlet, and you can configure the electricity cost too to provide that data- neat features you may or may not care about, depending on your intended use. In conclusion, I think it's a fair deal, and though it could be priced more competitively, I know for sure that it delivers, so will recommend it. Read more
Had trouble with integrating into my home network. Alexa wouldn’t recognize it at first. Finally got it to work, but every light I plug into it flickers. I would recommend only using it for incandescent lighting and maybe a fan. Functions well with those items. Not a bad value, but I would look elsewhere if your needs are for led lighting. Read more
