I'm very happy with this floor mat for my office chair. Of the three office floor mats I've ordered this one performs the best. It has enough friction on the bottom to stay in place and the top is smooth enough for chairs to easily roll across the floor mat. But not too slick. When you stop your chair it stays in place. Color: The one I got was black which is a great color for most floors. Size: It is just big enough to suit my purposes so the size is nice. I don't think I would want it much bigger but perhaps a foot in each direction would be nice. It is also thin enough that it won't be a tripping hazard or anything like that. And the chair can easily roll on and off the mat if for some reason you want to do that. Durability: The thickness of the floor mat is also substantial and I believe this floor mat will last a long time. This is a high quality simple floor mat. Should be good for a long time. Floor Protection: The main thing about this floor mat is that it will protect my floors from scuffs and impressions from the wheels of my office chair. I put this in my home office on carpet rather than hardwood, and honestly I was impressed by how well it performed. The quality feels substantial in person and the difference it makes at my desk setup is noticeable right away. Rolling my chair around is so much smoother now compared to before, and I’m not fighting against the carpet with every movement throughout the day. Unboxing and setup was easy. It comes rolled, so I just laid it out and the corners flattened down on their own without much wait at all. To be honest I did set some boxes with a bit of weight on each corner, just out of my own habit with products like this, but it didn’t really need it! Though I’m sure it helped a bit:) One thing I was paying attention to is whether it would shift around with regular chair movement, and it doesn’t. It stays put, which matters more than I expected once you’re actually using it. :) especially on carpet! The size worked out really well for my space. I went with the 36x48 and the nice thing is the dimensions work either way you orient it, so depending on how your desk is set up you’ve got flexibility there. The woven texture on top looks clean and modern too, not cheap or plasticky, and it blends into the office space without looking out of place. Overall this is a really solid and fantastic mat (I’m surprised by how excited I am about it considering it’s just a desk mat, but it just goes to show it’s well worth it in my opinion!) that does exactly what it’s supposed to do and then some. Very good chair mat. It's a nice rubbery material that grips the floor good, but yet lets your office chair roll easily enough on it still. It only took a day or so to completely lay flat, and it's stayed flat. No curling or anything. We have luxury vinyl planks and my wheels tore up a section where 4 boards met, with this I don't worry anymore about it getting messed up. I think it would work just as good to protect carpet too, but I haven't tested that. It looks great, a nice shiny black mat and fit perfectly under my desk. The rubbery material is easy to clean and doesn't attract the pet hair like an older mat I tried. It's strong too, my 120lb dog doesn't tear it up with his nails and the cats don't either. This mat is very nice, especially for the price. The reason I took one star off is because of the crease at the end of the mat that keeps it from laying flat, I stood on it, pressed it, folded it backwards each multiple times and was still not able to get the one side to lay flat. I am using this in the computer room my 80 year old parents use and it's a serious trip hazard sticking up the way it is. The good features are the overall look of the mat is very nice, it's like a 3d thatched pattern that you can feel so it has a very nice durable quality look. It definitely protects the flooring underneath and has a grippyness without being sticky that keeps it from moving when using it. It arrived rolled up and came out of the box with zero noticable smell. I just really wish they had some sort of core that they rolled it around for shipping that would keep it from getting that lip that won't lay flat. But overall this is a nice product, it's plenty large for one desk area, and it's a nice quality, budget friendly and great look. Read more
