This chair mat is a must have for any home office. It's made extremely well from great quality carpeting materials and non slip materials for the bottom. It's thick and sturdy yet soft but doesn't impede chair movement. It looks great on hardwood floors unlike the square plastic ones. It will last a very long time without falling apart or fading. I really like how it looks and feels. Read more
Too small. I used it for under my vanity stool instead of my office chair. Oh well. Pretty design and colors! Read more
Despite the description saying it can be used for carpet, it is not well suited to that style of flooring. It might work better with hardwood or other non-carpeted surfaces. It also has a very strong chemical smell. I've got mine currently airing outside, trying to wear the smell off. I will likely hold on to this, incase I move my office to a room with hardwoods, but for now, I will have to get a new mat more suited to carpeting. The one positive I can give this, is that the design is quite lovely. Read more
This mat is 39 x 39 inches round, and it’s actually round—something that isn’t always accomplished. The color scheme is white and muted blue with pink, almost magenta, accents, with a black thread binding around the whole of the mat. It’s a no-pile mat, and the pattern is purposely faded for a vintage/antique look, which I like. What stands out is the deep black binding—new, stark, and slightly shiny, which really contrasted with the aged look of the pattern. The edge binding itself is dense (which is what you want), and the overlock stitch seems tight but not over tensioned. The mat laid flat right out of the bag, and the rubbery grip on the underside keeps it from sliding around. My cats tried to carpet surf on it several times with no luck. There aren’t any care instructions on the mat, so I washed it on normal and dried it in the dryer on medium. I pulled it out hot and laid it flat. It didn’t curl, roll, or have any visible damage. After washing, the mat softened up a bit. I assume the sizing on the binding thread washed out a bit because the black wasn’t as shiny and blended nicely with the overall look that the design was going with. I’ve had the mat for about a week, it’s in a medium traffic area, and I rolled up the mat to clean the floor underneath, without any hassle. The no-pile mat feels nice on my bare feet. I don’t own a vacuum, so I can’t speak with any authority about how it reacts to vacuuming. I took off one star because it was advertised as 40 x 40 inches, but it’s actually 39 x 39. One thing I noticed almost immediately is that my cats don’t seem too inclined to scratch on it and even seem put off by the feel of it under their claws. That hasn’t stopped them from laying or playing on it. Overall I really like the mat. I think it fits well with my aesthetic, and I appreciate that I can just toss it in the washer. The grip is solid, and I can see this lasting a long time. Read more
