I’ve been using this chair mat for about a week now, and overall, it’s just okay — not amazing, but not terrible either. There are a few things I really like about it, and a few issues that might be deal breakers depending on your needs. Pros: Low profile: One of the standout features is how flat and sleek it is. I appreciate that my office chair glides over it without catching on the edges. No more getting stuck or having to tug the chair free every time I shift positions. Floor protection: It does help protect my hardwood floors from wheel scuffs and scratches, which is ultimately the reason I bought it. Easy to clean: Just a quick vacuum or sweep and it's good to go. That’s definitely a plus if you have pets or track in dust. Cons: Slides around: Despite being advertised as non slip, it definitely moves around on my hardwood floor. I followed the instructions and removed the plastic film on the back, but the backing feels more like thin, slippery plastic than anything grippy or absorbent. I find myself repositioning it a few times a day. Durability concerns: The material doesn’t feel particularly rugged. It’s basically a blanket with a plasticky underside, and I worry that it may not hold up well over time, especially with daily use and frequent rolling. Creases: It arrived folded, and even after trying to flatten it out per the instructions, the creases are still visible and annoying. I wish it had been rolled instead. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a low cost, low profile mat that won’t catch your chair wheels and looks fairly tidy, this one might do the trick. Just be prepared to make some tradeoffs. The sliding and durability are issues that prevent it from being a 4 or 5 star product. I’ll keep using it for now, but I’m not sure I’d repurchase unless the backing gets an upgrade. Read more

I have a large antique Victorian desk that sits on my hardwood flooring and noticed my chair was damaging the floor. This mat is serving it purpose. It is large! Which I love. Easy to vacuum. I bought this as a mat for my chair in my home office, to protect our glossy wooden floors. We were pleasantly surprised to see how thick and durable this is! I would say it's as thick and durable as industrial carpet. Has beautiful grooves and lines, which makes it look more expensive and modern than just a classic matte. Looks neat in my decorated home office. It comes with a film on bottom that you take off, so it doesn't slip. Great size for the classic rolling office chair. They were easily flattened and adhere well to the floor but can also be removed easily. I just had new hardwood floors installed and this will prevent the wear pattern that was present on the old floor. My office chairs also roll easily on the tight-knit surface.
