I don't really use the big metal plug things in my bathroom sinks because they're clunky and they just get in my way. For a the past several years I had been buying wire-mesh hair catchers for my shower. They functioned well for a while, but always started breaking within a few months and then I would have to buy another one. This hair catcher functions just as well but seems much more durable. I have had it for over a month now and it does not seem to be showing any signs of weakness. It fits the standard size drain in my shower perfectly and seems to be catching all the hair. The only “negative” is that it does fill up with hair rather quickly, which can block the water from draining. However, I don’t think that is such a bad thing. I just reach down and empty the hair into a small trash can that I have placed next to my shower, and then put it back into the drain to continue my shower. The fact that it is filling up means that it is catching all the hair, right? I suppose they could have designed it with a deeper cup area, but I suspect that might cause it to not fit properly in the drain. Therefore, I conclude that it works well, seems very durable, and I can live with needing to empty the hair out once during the middle of the shower, and again at the end.
