This kinesio tape is well made, and on par with (or possibly a bit better than) the tape my physical therapist uses on me. What I ordered came with 20 precut pieces that are 10 inches long (and 2" wide). The adhesive on this k-tape is strong, and stays firmly on my skin for multiple days, through showers and sweat. The stretch is what I would expect from k-tape. It feels just like the expensive tape my PT uses. I think the next time I purchase k-tape, I will purchase it uncut so that I can cut it to the exact size I need it, which will vary based on the body part I use it on. I don't mind taking the time to round the corners, and I think it would be more economical that way. For my knees, for example,, I can use one strip with a split cut in it, length-wise, so that I can have basically a piece with 2 legs that can then wrap around my knee cap to help it track the way it should. I could probably get away with a slightly smaller piece if I were cutting from a role, but using the pre-cut tape works fine. The package doesn't provide wrapping methods, so those I had to either look online for or learn from my PT. The package does explain how much to stretch the tape and/or your skin depending on what you are using the tape for, but this is something best learned through seeing and feeling how someone with experience uses it. One thing I did find difficult was reading the package because white writing is on a light background. I wish they'd use more contrasting colors for better visibility of instructions. (see pics) As for the design and writing on it, it seems that OK Tape markets this as a "feature," I'm not a big fan of the writing on the tape. I'd prefer solid colors like purple, sky blue, or pink...but it doesn't matter that much. What I NEED is the support, functionality, and staying power, and this k-tape meets those needs. Read more
- These precut strips are 2”x10” each. The box includes twenty strips. The ends of each strip are nicely rounded which is helpful in keeping the ends of the tape from snagging after application. - The backing tears easily for easier application and the tape itself has a good amount of stretch to it. If needed, the strips still cut well so you can adjust the size. - I ordered this to try on my husband for his elbow tendonitis, and he feels like this provides more support than a typical elbow brace. I think using a KT tape like this helps to support the extensor muscles of the forearm more. - After applying, the strips held through an entire day of painting plus a shower afterwards, so it’s safe to say that the adhesive holds very well. I was quite impressed by how well it held after being wet. When he did decide to remove it, there was a bit of pulling of his arm hair, but nothing too bad. I think this is to be expected and shaving or trimming any hair would be the better choice. - The ‘Xtreme’ logo is very large in glittery gold lettering across each strip. This doesn’t bother me (in fact I like it against the green) but my husband wasn’t a huge fan so that is just personal preference. - The price is currently about $18 for 20 2”x10” Xtreme strips. The regular 20 strip pack only costs about $8. The Xtreme version is made of a synthetic material while the regular is 93% cotton. I have not tried the regular, but the Xtreme version claims to have a better adhesive. I do think that this adhesive is better than other KT tape I’ve tried. - Overall, I think this is a high quality product. If you will be in water, sweating a lot, or want a tape that will last through showering, I think this is a great choice. If you’re just starting out using KT tape, I would suggest trying the regular version first and saving a little money to see if it fits your needs. Read more
This kinesiology tape is effective and assists with fibromyalgia pain relief. In some areas, it is easy to apply it yourself (arms, legs, etc.), but in others it is rather difficult and you'll need someone's help to apply it (back, neck, etc.). It has a decent hold, and it does not make you overly sweaty or uncomfortable where it touches your skin - it has a good breathability. The adhesive is strong and did not cause any irritation on my skin. I also appreciated that these came in already cut pieces, rather than one giant roll that you have to figure out how much to use without being wasteful or not getting enough. I also appreciated that I could shower with this on. Having said all of this, if you have fibromyalgia, this is not going to cure your pain. Once you take it off, what pain/discomfort it did relieve for that area will return - but it is nice while it lasts, especially if you are trying to achieve some goal or perform tasks that would normally leave you bedridden for days afterward. This helps to cut down on the recovery time. The price you pay for the quality you get is excellent. I highly recommend this kinesiology tape. Read more
