Customers find the blender to be of high quality, with one noting it's a good home substitute for a Vitamix, and they appreciate its efficiency, with one mentioning the strong motor doesn't get stopped by anything.

This blender is top notch. It was pricey but well worth it. I like the glass jar and it’s easy to clean The variable settings can blend to smooth or chunky to your liking. Read more
Good home substitute for a Vitamix / commercial blender. I had to replace my old Oster beehive blender which I lost in a divorce. I had bought a cheap Hamilton Beach blender from the local blue box store, but it had trouble crushing ice and mixing milk shakes if the ice cream was too hard. I bought an Oster because of my previous one, which worked just fine for almost 30 years. I bought the boro silicate glass jar version of this because, again, my previous Oster blender was a glass jar one. This new version does what it says; strong motor doesn't get stopped by anything; keeps going, doesn't get hot, perfect for my needs. BUT; the milk shake program doesn't last long enough. There were still some lumps of ice cream in the fluid, which required a longer time to complete the mixing; I just let it run the first session, and then push it to repeat again. While this isn't a problem at all, you should know that it's a timed cycle, the blender doesn't 'know' the consistency of whatever is in the blender. Other reviews complain about difficulty putting the blender bottom w/blade and washer placement. This, too was a reason for buying the Oster; being able to get the parts clean. Yes, this one is a little more complicated to put together, but anyone who has had a previous Oster product will have no problem. I simply place the jar upside down on the counter, place the washer on the bottom of the jar, CAREFULLY place the blades part straight down, and CAREFULLY put it directly on the washer, while keeping your fingers around the edge of the jar to guide the parts together. The difficulty people seem to have, is the addition of the base part before tightening the screw on base part. Just pay attention to it while doing it, that's all it takes. No one in my household has had any difficulty doing this, that includes the grandchildren. That's all it takes; my 12 year old grandson can do it right every time, so I think all it takes is paying attention to what you're doing while putting it together. I do think perhaps the old Oster design may have made people assume this one would be easier to put together like the old one, because the washer isn't as wide at the base, which requires more attention while putting it together, but we haven't had any problems with it. OH, and this big glass jar is HEAVY. Be ready to use two hands to lift it up when full. The lid is also tighter than the older Oster blenders; while I never had any problem with the older Oster jar tops being so loose as to having the mix push it out, perhaps with the power of this new one they were cautious when designing the lid to make sure it doesn't come loose while it runs. So it's been redesigned to be more snug on the jar. I hope this helps people to evaluate this product before buying. Would I buy this one again? I don't know; it certainly will do everything that I want, but paying an extra $60 for a glass jar is a bit much. But after having a plastic jar Hamilton Beach blender, and having it become cloudy, I just wanted to make sure I didn't have that going on again. OH and the other brands don't come apart to clean them thoroughly, so trying to clean the base of THEIR jar's insides makes cleaning with the blades there makes them dangerous. Buy an Oster. You may not need this top of the line model, but the 'Beehive' blenders with the 1000 watt motor should do you just fine for all your blender needs (other than the food processor type tasks). Great capacity, I have an Oster blender for 20 years and still works well so I know this one is going to last for a long time. Read more
Do not buy. Very overrated. The bottom screws off and the blades come out. Pain in the neck to clean. I would guess the rubber gasket at bottom will need replacing in short while. Blades already are”dinged “ up after 5 smoothies with cracked ice. Not a great blender for a great textured smoothie. This is the worst blender. Screw off bottom leaks no matter how tight. Too tight. Not tight enough. Do not buy Read more

This review is for the glass jar version. This blender came neatly packed with instructions and a smaller “blend and go cup”. The blender was assembled, ready to use. My first use was to make a smoothie. I used the automatic program for the smoothie expecting to have a great smoothie when done. It almost did a good job except it left a small piece of the banana. The second smoothie did the same thing. There was a small chunk of banana left. This blender is too expensive to perform like that. I expected the auto program was optimized to produce a well blended smoothie. I didn’t expect it to leave pieces of the fruit, especially a banana which is a soft fruit. I really thought I was going to love this blender, but I don’t. I’m not happy with it and I am considering sending it back because of this. Read more
