Complicated installation and removal of globe
This is a well priced light fixture and was the closest in styling for replacement of a previous fixture that unexpectedly broke apart, crashing onto our front porch floor. The one drawback is the tricky retaining screw (there is just one) that holds the glass shade to the fixture, as the screw has to be tightened in a certain way and when it came time to replace a too bright Edison bulb with a lower wattage one [the retaining screw] would not insert again properly and it wound up cracking the globe, requiring purchase of a replacement fixture because the glass cannot be purchased separately. The measurements on the product description photos are correct. It does not come with a bulb but would look good with almost any type of bulb, thanks to the 'seeded' bubbled glass. It is overall of medium to lower quality. Although lights of this type don't usually need to be super tough. One thing I did notice, is that the metal band that circles the glass cover is crooked from back to front. Not a big deal if the light will usually be seen from the front, but it might bug a perfectionist if the light is often viewed from the side. Read more
