Nice looking but a bit snug

Mike POctober 10, 2025

Right out of the box they looked sharp: the blue is tasteful (not screaming bright, but noticeable), stitching looks clean, and the shape leans nicely formal without looking stiff. The first time I wore them, I walked through the office, climbed stairs, even drove in them, and aside from needing a short break, my feet didn’t feel tortured. They break in a bit—at first, the leather felt stiff around the instep and toes, but after a little wear the discomfort faded. The sole gives a modest grip, not for hiking, but good enough for polished surfaces and wet sidewalks. Laces hold tight; I didn’t feel them slipping loose mid-meeting, which is always a relief. One thing: after several hours standing, I could feel fatigue creeping in. They’re dress shoes, not running shoes, so I expected that, but it means pairing with good socks or insoles helps. Also, on rough pavement the finish scuffs easier than I hoped. I’ve had to touch up a couple of edges where the blue coating rubbed off slightly. And if your feet are a bit wide, these might feel snug until broken in. All in all, these have become my go-to when I want something that says “I care about how I look” but also lets me walk around without being in agony. They’re not perfect, but for the price and the occasions I’ve used them, I’m glad I got them. Read more

Good looking shoe, but cheaply made and uncomfortable

MiaSeptember 27, 2025

These are interesting shoes. The blue suede color and texture are very attractive; however, there is not much more to be said in recommending them for regular or daily wear. The size runs a little small (length specifically) and the quality is actually quite troublesome. These shoes are extremely light weight. Both shoes together weigh about the same as one sketcher slip in shoe which is also a lightweight shoe itself. The base of the shoe is a foamy plastic material that is rigid in length and soft in width. All of the parts of these shoes are glued together or poorly stitched. The tread on the bottom of the shoe is very likely to slip due to the material and low-profile treading. As for comfort, these are not too bad, but you can feel cracks in concrete and small rocks when you step. There is virtually no arch support whatsoever, which could be partially addressed with a good insert. Another issue is the height of the back of the shoe which is shorter than it needs to be to keep these on your feet. The value is nowhere close for the $39.99 price tag. I would expect to find these in a dollar store bin for $4. Payless would likely have refused to sell these, not only because of the quality and price, but the packaging. The packaging these arrived in was interesting as well. Wrapped in a thin plastic bag with a strange chemical odor, and a plastic band holding them face to face, as you can see in the image.
