Pacific Drive is Stranger Things in a station wagon. It's wonderful. If you're a fan of all things mysterious and weird (Alan Wake, Control, etc.), you'll feel right at home with this one. I was hooked within the first hour. Everything about the game begs you to keep playing and discovering more about the exclusion zone, why it exists in the first place, and the people behind the disaster. The soundtrack is great, the acting from the three main characters is top-notch, and the overall audio/visual tone is fantastic. The tension while driving in the various parts of the zone is pallpable, and trying to escape the collapses is always exciting and tense, no matter how many times you end up doing it. Tons of accessibility options that let you completely customize the experience, including FOV sliders (this is something more console games need to adopt). The developers really deserve kudos for going the extra mile here. I won't go into a ton of detail (there are plenty of reviews out there for that), all I can say is that this game comes highly recommended. Read more

My nephew really likes this game. It's really unique and interesting, and he loves that. He likes all the exploring you have to do in the different areas. I personally really like the "mood" of this game. It's a mix of a lot of different things, but I like the suspense, tension and scary aspects. It's not like a horror game, but it has just that right amount of excitement, for me, that really makes me want to keep watching or playing it with him. The customization is very good, a lot of things you can change, anything from the paint scheme to the actual physical look of your car. You also do some base building, mostly just collecting parts until you can add a new machine that gives you more and different things to customize. Overall, a really good and fun game. My nephew has already beaten the game, but is replaying it to try and explore everything, so a lot of replay ability here. Hope this helps anyone thinking about this game. Read more

I recently purchased Pacific Drive on PS5, and it really caught my attention. The game’s atmosphere is incredible—set in a haunting, unpredictable Pacific Northwest, it keeps you on edge the whole time. Driving a customizable car through eerie environments, while managing resources and upgrading your vehicle, made for a really unique experience. The visuals are stunning, especially with the dynamic weather and lighting effects. The pacing can be a bit slow at times, and if you're expecting combat, this isn’t that type of game. But for me, the sense of isolation and exploration was what made it stand out. It’s a fresh take on the survival genre, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who enjoys atmospheric, story-driven games. Read more

overall the game is great, however I have ordered twice now and both time this item came in an envelope instead of a box. Making it so this item is all dented in all the corners. While not dinged enough for me to refund it, it is quite disappointing and I would have probably try to snag this in person to avoid something like this if you care about the game box at all. I'm an avid gamer, but will admit I hadn't heard of this game until I saw it nominated for an indie game award at The Game Awards 2024. It piqued my interest, so I decided to give it a shot. After playing it, I can now see why it received so much praise. It's a very fun and unique game that's definitely worth considering. The deluxe edition contains a few nice extras, too. Zero complaints! Read more
