Paperless for Windows Download

I was looking for a good program for scanning & printing to PDF. Paperport came on one of my laptops, but not on new one. I thought I'd try this one. Its decent, but really it isn't as user-friendly and intuitive as Paperport and I ended up buying Paperport 14. Maybe for someone who is more technically savvy the savings would be worth the extra hassle, but for me, for it was worth it to go back to Paperport. Difficult to navigate around. EXCEPTIONALLY DIFFICULT to categorize receipts. Can't even "export" or "save" a scanned receipt to use outside of the program. Uses other scanning software to make scans (has to go out and use another program, slowing things down and taking more steps and time). I am completely disappointed, and unfortunately, I can't get a refund because I downloaded this from Amazon. I won't make either mistake again. Read more

At the price when I got this ($26) downloaded, this was the best possible imaging system for that kind of money available for the PC. It scans your documents in, into pre-setup folders. It is not as pre-setup for use as Paperport 14 by Nuance, but it also lacks the strict Nuance license. That is what upsets most people about Nuance Paperport 14 is that it has to be licensed for each PC, they do not like some firms, let you use one license for two computers, and these days most people have two computers. For that reason alone, or if you don't use imaging much and don't mind setting up your own directories (I Mean it takes 10 mins or less) this is a fine product, well worth its low price. I had zero issues with it, with an HP multifunction device that has a scanner, I do not have more scanners to give more info on how those may/may not work, but for what I got, it delivers, and I bet it will deliver for you too. ATTENTION: UPDATE: One user has left a comment that it may be advisable to download a trial from the manufacturer first, to make sure it runs on your scanner. I purchased this only to realize that it is for version 2.0 and not 2.3. That was a bit disheartening -- especially when the Amazon listing has "null" for the edition. The funny part about the 2.0 release is -- it is the initial release of the product. I has only been updated a few times over the course of its history -- and currently being at 2.3, it is lacking a few options that really does not make sense to me for a potential great product. However, the good part is that the software can easily be updated to the latest release of 2.3. The bad part, the update sends you to the mfg website and that update contains a virus (per Norton) -- W32.SAPE.Heur.2 is the virus -- the risk is low but it really should not occur -- on my system - a windows 10 box, the product did install (the virus was captured and removed) and everything still worked appropriately. I should say that the product works the way I need it to work. If Speedy Organizer had a better interface and better reporting features, I would have easily purchased that product above this one. But the downside for that product was the user's interface and the placing of documents into folders that could easily be searched and reviewed quickly. Speedy is also a good product but I preferred this products user interface compared to the speedy one. The beauty of this product is that it does a great job in receipt management. I travel for work and need to capture receipts to do reimbursements. Initially after reviewing the product, I did not think it would do what I needed it to do (which is why I looked at the Speedy product) -- but after watching the youtube videos and learned how I could customize what was captured, I realized this was the product for me. Not the perfect product but it will do. If speedy and paperless could get married -- they would have a great product (in my opinion)!!! I wish there was a few other options available for this product but it does not seem like the developer is going to update it anytime soon -- but I can live with the way it functions for it does the trick that I need it to do. The best part of this product is the ability to create new document/receipt types and capture only the information that is useful. I was using the Neat Receipt product and I loved that product until they went to a "subscription based model" to use their software -- and it is also cloud based. I refuse to place important and sensitive information (tax returns, employee information, etc) in the cloud for someone to potentially break in because of poor security policies on the company's part. However what I found by using this product (even though it is not 100% perfect), this rocks compared to Neat -- because with Neat, I was limited to the way they thought a document should be captured. Whereas, giving me the ability to customize the types of scans is above and beyond was I was initially looking for. So yes, I am pleased and I would have given this a 5 star rating but considering the potential of infecting folks with a virus on the update process (if you didn't have a good virus protection) and a few updates that I thought should have been already in the software. I would definitely recommend this product - but warn to not update it unless you do have a good virus protection software installed. Read more

It mostly works but is buggy. I purchased Paperless as a replacement for another product. If I had it to do over again I would have done more research to consider alternatives before making this purchase. Read more
